So I have restored an old PC back to XP from Vista (ick) and it's been a very interesting couple of days as I've found a few courses that were almost finished. The count is up to three - that is, courses that are almost done that I've found.

The most interesting is Royal New Arlington, a crazy (for lack of a better word) links course that I started from a pre-made plot with the highest elevation change settings. It was started as more of an exercise in laying out a course onto a plot that is as far from flat that I could make. 18 holes later, the course stands almost finished.

It plays really long, and has tons of blind shots, crazy greens, and huge deep bunkers everywhere. I'm going to try and get this one done first, then the other two.

Thanks for looking!

One of the themes of this course is knowing where to hit the ball. Unless you've either played it 100 times, or have explored it prior to each shot, you'll have no idea where to hit it off of each tee. There are patches of fairway and green rough everywhere to play with sight lines and confuse golfers. Yes, this was done on purpose. The course skirts the boarderline of fair vs. total fantasy, but I think it's fun.

It's being brought! :)

I've had to rebuild a couple of greens that were just too much. I must have been drunk when I set some of these pins lol. I only test the course on very dry so I get the best idea of fairness of pins and greens.

I've gone way outside my comfort zone with this course. I usually like to stay within the bounds of realism and tend to err on the side of caution (especially when it comes to greens). I'm going to upload this one soon and I ask that you all enjoy responsibly. :)

OK, here's the last screen shot before I finish it. At this point, I've played it over and over just to make sure the pins are ok. Some are a little close to unfair, but even on very dry you can hit it close and the ball will stay. I had to rebuild a couple of greens; the 15th was rebuilt 3 times before it would hold an approch shot. All that's left is to make the splash/logo/flag and you'll have it. Thanks!
