I was talking to some players the other day and found sometimes that elevations in creating was causing problems in reading what the course actually was playing like. Lets say from the tee is says 20' uphill but when you look from the tee it is playing downhill? I went back through some of my created courses and found this to be tru to a point. Then someone told me that there is a process when I am creating a course that I need to do to make the course and elevation to read the correct distances and elevation changes? This is the first time I have heard of this but maybe some of the Expert creators can give me a clue on what this about? This may seem confusing to you so hopefully I explained myself correctly.

There are far , far, better people than me to answer this here,I have seen this sort of ellusion once in a course that was Hilly and had a City/ Buildings type Pano, but are you using the Hole definition tool / Shot Path correctly, in the Course Architect.

You mentioned ? a + Elevation of 20 foot.
If on a Par 3 Tee {in the compiled course }you click on the white spot in the Overhead Map thats your ball it tells you the elevation + or -, the same if the ball is in the middle of the Fairway on a Par 4 ect:

I would think it is the CA that registers and saves / records all elevations before compile.
I recently played a course which i call Exreme Fantasy and the over head map [pop up box ] could not handle the - Elevations, the information was not there when i tried to use it, :) but it was an Enormous drop
