I a doing another course with lots of ponds, water

i have done 7 holes, 6 have reflective water except one.

the 1st hole goes over a pond and the water wont reflect, but the 2nd hole plays over the same pond and the water reflects, i turn the aim around to see the pond and it reflects all around, but not when your on the 1st tee , this is very strange, got me stuffed.

I deleted the pond texture and put it back, didnt work
i didnt optimize the pond the second time, still didnt work
changed textures didnt work

why would the 2nd hole be ok but not the first, the hole is relatively smooth and flat, theres no trees in yet, its just fairly bare and basic at this stage.

I really dont know what to do

can someone please help me

thank you stephen

Try this forum item, may help assuage some of the frustrations that non-reflecting water can cause

You have come across one of the Course Architect's problems. If you manage to solve it you will be a elected to the Course Designer's Hall of Fame . . .LOL

I have a hard time getting reflection on all water.

If you have 6 out of 7 you are ahead of the game.

On stock courses only some ponds refect.

Been trying to figure this out since I decided to re-install the game.

On my laptops in 07 & 08 the water doesnt work. In the 2007 game on the laptop no matter what I change the settings to high or vry high, the game always switches it back to medium. In 08 the water doesnt work at all with the shader level turned on.

Cant take picture on the laptop in 08.

Here is the deal on Sawgrass (;stock) with the shader lever turned off, Tree distance set to high.

on 16 you get dead looking water

on 17 it looks ok

Shader level set to anything other than off, get dead looking water on all settings.

Now keep in mind in the game 16 goes one direction and 17 goes in the opposite direction.

My personal concern is for the water in 07. However the problem in both is similar.

Back many moons ago, it was said to use an Ocean texture than a stock texture. Who really knows...

In 07 have like 5 custom courses installed. A few 04 courses installed the water on the 04 courses is ok. My theory is either create your own water texture in a different years LC or maybe use a specific libs water texture that works. For example the 04 Highlands course water may reflex in the game while the 07 K-Club doesnt on custom courses. Will post back once some more information is found. Pretty sure there is a fix...

PLEASE NOTE: THESE ISSUES ARE NOT USING XP, THEY ARE ON WINDOWS 7 LAPTOP COMPUTERS. ON THE XP MACHINE DONT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS.

Another idea is maybe it has something to do with the settings in the ini file or making adjustments to the skydome. However on the custom courses these commands dont always work or default the settings.

Yes but to me that looks false, the water is blue ,water has no colour so there for takes on the colour of it's surroundings/ reflections of !
