Hi

Long time member here. Decided I would try my hand at course design. C A installed together with TW06. Watched several of the great tutorials offered on this site. Staring from scratch so these questions are very basic. How do I import or get to use libraries from TW08 in C A in my design? If I use TW06 library objects will they work up in TW08?

Thanks
Sal

Hi Sal, welcome to the world of designing, glad to have you aboard.. Now, you MUST load the libs into the 06 game and the 08 game. Thats it! If you already have the lib in 08 then you only have to load it into 06... Got to have them in both..

Peace

Hi Sal
Use CLSetup 06 to import libs into CA, available to download here

http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/details.asp?id=620

Copy the 08 stock libs from the TW08 game disk by right clicking on your disk drive icon, click open, then open courses. Libs are in each course folder, but remember to open the large compressed folder (titled 0compressed), as this contains 3 of the stock courses. Copy each one to a new folder and install using CLSetup 06. Much better to use 08 textures when designing, they are usually superior to 06 textures. Good luck with your course designing.

When you have TW08 installed, you can also install the TW08 stock libraries from your C Drive:

When you have TW08 installed go to (;default) path:

C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
Inside this folder (; courses )you will find all stock courses.
Stock courses folders are:
PBL.....SAW...BOS...DOR...EAS....FRS....HAR....KHC....KOC....NTL....RIV.

When you look in the stock course folders you will find the stock library.
For example: when you look in stock course folder SAW......you will find library:
SAW.tcl

To use the TW08 stock libraries in CA06, you will have to add the TW08 stock libraries in TW06 game with CLsetup06
you can download CLsetup06 in section: Utilities
and inside go to section: utilities for TW06 game......course installation tools.

when you open CLsetup06.......popup screen will appear.
In pop up screen you will have to browse to:
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses

now browse to each stock course folder....and inside dubble click the TW08 stock library...
and CLsetup06 will install the libraries in TW06 game.

Highly recommend using the CLTOOL also, as others pointed out you have to put the 08 libs into 06 also (my bad I forgot) but when you use the CLTOOL, after everything is loaded you can move libs in and out of 06, with the CLTOOL. Helps a lot, also helps with removing stick libs..

It is fun, agonizing, enjoyable, frustrating, inspiring, and monotonous. Kind of runs the whole gamut.

Hi again.

Need more advice. I've loaded my TW08 libraries into TW06 using the CLSetup tool for TW06 as detailed above. They are in the 06 library and when I open C A I see them listed in the C A libraries. Trouble is C A will not allow me to drop any of the objects from TW08 onto the course. I see the pointer but no object image appears when I drop. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Also I see many of the custom TW08 courses use non stock libraries such as Judd's Walls_n_Stuff, rock dirt wood, etc.. How do I incorporate those into my library suite?

Bobby, you're right this is going to be frustrating but I think rewarding.

Cheers

Have you opened a camera window? Use the top toolbar to open a camera window. Change the work window to float and then place the camera window next to it. You can then make sure that the camera is close to where you are planting and will show the plants. If you are planting on a green texture it is difficult to see the plants on the plot in the work window. Also make sure that you have sized the plant in feet, as if left in inches it will hardly be seen. If you are seeing the red triangle you should just be able to click it and place the plants wherever you want. Just download the custom libs from the site and install them in the same way as the 08 stock ones. I try not to have more than approx. 50 libs showing, you can have more than that installed but cloak the ones you are not using with the CL Tool 06. That is available as a download in the 2006 Utilities section.

Jimbo

Thanks for that. I was wrong. The objects were being deposited but they were so small (inches instead of feet) I couldn't see them. Setting up the camera and magnifying the area helped me discover them. Properties allowed me to size them. Properties for these TW08 objects all seem to default to inch. Is there a way to set the default size for all objects to feet?

Cheers

Hi Sal
If there is a way to change the default to feet I am not aware of it. TTFN, Jim.
