I have a really nice overhead blueprint for a course near my home i used to caddy at for years, and i would love to re-create it using Course Architect.
Problem is, i dont know how to import an overhead so i can make it as close to scale and proportions as i can.
Anyone know how i could accomplish this? |

YVW, I use that tutorial every time I do a real course, which isn't that often so I always have it handy.. If, when you get ready to try it, you run into problems, there are lots of folks who are more then willing to help out.. It's really quite an amazing program, the TA that is..
Peace |

I ran into s snag using the Terrain Assits: Simplified Tutorial...
When it tells me to goto: seamless.usgs.gov, it has been replaced by The National Map, and i cannot for the life of me find how to define an aresa by coordinates.
Any help on this? |

I did, but have advanced passed that and cannot find a DEM based on the coordinates.
They changed sites and the interface is different.
If you could help me find a dEM for the Coordinates:
Push-pin Topleft:
42degrees 1430.72N 71degrees 51.12W
Push-pin Bottom-Right
42degrees 1352.01N 71degrees 419.81W
I have never done any of this stuff before... |

Cannot help you with this. I could use the old way, shown in the tutorial, without problems, but no idea how to use the new site. Would be helpful if someone updated that old tutorial. Try the CGX site again, some clever guys over there. |

Gotta say that is a pretty crappy attitude. You have been asking a ton of questions and been getting a lot of good responses from people. But one thing doesn't go your way and all of a sudden you pull out the health issues and family stuff.
My advice for you would be to keep your attitude in check. |

It was the
|
"i cant help you with this" | response i had a problem with.
Thats not a helpful attitude, why pick on me because I am the new guy? Jimbo is a well-seasoned veteran, he could have easily downloaded the DEM for me.
and about my condition, theyre not family and medical issues theyre facts, if you dont like that i have problems thats your problem entirely.
[Edit] I actually mis-read Jimbos post, i thought he said he cannot help me and can use the original site just fine. Didnt see the bit where he said he doesnt know the controls. Sorry about that.
As for good infos on questions i have asked.... Where? i havent recieved an answer about anything other than the TA tutorial. All the rest has been ascertained from CGX. |

All designers (old and new) are having a hard time figuring out how to get a dem from the new site.
I understand your rush but until someone figures it out we are all stuck. It not that we dont want to help you, its that we cant.
GL with all....Bill
