I was advised to use these option settings by an experienced course designer and I have never had any problems with courses since using them

Do you keep the Graphics Slider in the middle because of the reccomendation or because of your Graphics card power?

Just curious as I have a beefy rig and I just max everything out and I do have occasional graphic glitches while playing...

I just follow those settings. I was having lots of problems with plants not showing correctly so axe360 advised me to use those settings and (touch wood) I have had no problems since. Only got an ATI Radeon HD4600 series graphics card and those settings work fine with that card

i'll suggest that those without BGrav's 'hungry man' video card/system, that those would tax a fair number
those with lower end cards and /or systems

for those - starting on automatic with slider in middle is usually good
then can adjust just the slider
then can go to manual and decrease/increase the ones you want

grass and trees are the biggest resource hogs

oddly enough - sometimes increasing the slider (on manual) will give better performance than lower

all depends on the course too
