Possibly my favorite course of all time is a 2002 course named Chanterelle Hills by Voyen Koreis. I was wondering what some of your favorite old courses are... 2004 and earlier. It's always fun to go back and think of some of the best courses that maybe haven't made it into more recent games.

One of my favorites from TW2004 is Heron Pointe south course. The architect's name is Jim Dickson and it appears to be the only course he uploaded to CourseDownloads

Heartily agree with the above posters...

I'll add that perhaps my favorite "real" course is Pine Valley for 2004 by barrylb. He also has the distinction of designing a very good and realistic fantasy course for 2004-TPC @ Aliigator Key.

BTW, Bobby, your Whistling Straits for 2004 is quite outstanding as well...

One of my favorites course , and one I thing stands the test of time is Peck Island Park 2007, by J Markle. Great course just a blast in windy conditions. If J Markle ever reads this, thanks for a great course.

TW2003 Holkham Park by Gary Norman is one of my all times favorite, great layout and greens.

Spent some time lately putting my courses into Windows 7 and playing them at the same time. Was reminded of Risley's great course Reflection Bay. Would love to see a similar course in the mode of Reflection Bay.

Revelation by BGravolicious and Long Cove Course at Hilton Head by Risley are courses that will certainly stand the test of time even if they are relatively recent courses.

For me it would be Moreta Park. Ray Hines, who started the Clambakers Tour, designed it, and I'm pretty sure it's the only course he ever created. I have always loved that course, and look forward to the event that is played there every year.

Its called golf because all the other good 4-letter words were taken.

Well, Bobby, you started the discussion, and now I will add my two (more cents) - lol. Playing your Whistling Straights 09 over at clams this week, I have to say this is absolutely one of my favorites of all time. Just the fact that you even did this course with it's multitude of bunkers - have they ever really got an accurate count? But it plays in every condition and gives a brutal test to the player. It is as good a recreation as there is! Every time I play it I am reminded of just how good it is.

Thanks!

That's easy. Justastiffy's Bali and Copper Canyon from TW05. Those are the courses that gave me the design bug. The detail, structures, sounds, pano ... just great designs. Too bad the TW game engine has changed and you can't really design courses like those anymore ... the engine in TW08 renders the entire course rather than just one hole like TW05, so those courses are far too demanding on the engine now. If you don't have TW05, I recommend buying the game cheap on ebay and trying out those courses.

Watching the PGA today brought back so many memories of pain, agony, and victory on some of those holes. Loved every bit of it. Thanks Steve, that means a lot!

I agree with you Steve, Bobby's last version of the Straits course is just a thing of pure beauty.

Just played the first round of Whistling Straits on Clammies. Bobby that is an absolutely stunning course, a joy to play.
