1) Is it possible to flatten a course back to the original 1000 foot land?
2) Failing the above, is there a way to transfer all of a course's shapes and textures to a new .TCA? |

to flatten, draw a shape round the whole course and flatten to min/avge/max, whichever you think will be closest. If it has to be exactly 1000 feet, check the height its at, make a hill + or - the difference, then draw shape round the whole thing and flatten to max/min. |

Aha, I had done this before coming here to post this thread with a shape all round the outside of the course to the edge of useable ground and it left a rather rough transition from my mass flat area and the edges.
Theyre only 20 foot high at the most but theyre jagged and smoothing seems to do nothing. :(;
EDIT: I guess the next question from this then is can you create a perfect shape around the plot area? Presumably not.
Thanks for the reply though XD |

You know, I think it was Roger aka Homeboy that had made up a bunch of plots that were at 1000ft elevation. Maybe I can find them in the utilities section, I'll have a look see:) |

I think Steve Danut knows how to do what your talking about Evil.
I guess I misunderstood your first question.
Cant you enlarge your plot? But, I would pm Danut, I think he knows how to do that.. |

You can also save an entire course with the cntrl alt +E after placing a plot around the entire course ...lifting all with kids ...you'll only be able to save shotpaths on one hole , all the others will have to be redone.
I've got several with the entire course ...one thing that should be done before exporting is to make sure all the textures are from either a stock or from the architect lib...
yes it's a poor lib for quality but changing later to a stock or custom is much easier and the odds are the architect lib will always be installed..
you need a corresponding bitmap (the thumbnail) 99 x 364pixels is standard size ...if you save the file as (example) olde-links.lsf then the image name has to match exactly ie: olde-links.bmp
Put this bmp file and the lsf file into Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006/Data/Architect/Power Catalog/Par5 folder and start a new plot and use the wizard to find your hole or your course.

Ron |

I see Ron already stated all of this - lol. Oh well, now you should really know how to do it - lol. |
|
You can export shapes but not elevations. If you want to export the entire layout, you can do that as well. Just drop a shape all the way around all the other shapes you want to export. Then pick up with children. Then hit ctrl-alt-E and the export window will pop up. You will need to export it into the TW2006 folder at the following - Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\Data\Architect\Power Catalog. Then drop it into any of the folders - par 3, par 4 or par 5. Then you will need to create a bmp image of 99 x 292 pixels and just title it the same as your shapes and put into the same folder.
Now create a new course using the wizard and just choose the shape you made and drop it in. Viola! The only thing is that when you export shapes it will only retain the hole layout info for the 1st hole, so you will need to redefine all the rest.
Have fun! |

Ron and Danut you're both officially on the "Weazel wants your babies" list. Thanks so much!
Would it be churlish to vote for sticky? Or is there a massive Tips and FAQ thread these can be added to? (If they're not already.) |

That is some great info there...just one more question...can you rotate an entire plot?I laid out the routing for a course and defined the first hole..I wanted to see where the significant parts of the pano showed up...I really need it to be a little different...I know I can pic up each hole and move it...just was hoping for an easier way! Here is what I see above first hole... |

You can rotate the entire plot, but not rotate your elevations. Just drop a shape all the way around all the other shapes you want to rotate. Then pick up with children. Rotate the plot to put your hole facing the mountain in the pano. It may be best to work a flat plot or low elevations plot if your plot has large changes in elevation.

If you were to make a pano with that view in it, you can dictate where North on the pano is and make any view where you want it, with some limitations - duh. |
