I mentioned in another post that I was starting on some new, laaarge size libraries. The first which is getting close, is the texture library. I have also started on the structures (non-buildings) library. Just wanted to share a screen shot of the textures from the librarian in the CA. If anyone has suggestions or opinions or requests or whatever - lol, please post them.
Thanks |

yes there are rock textures. however, i have not tried them out in the game yet to see how they look. any volunteers to test and see?
On another note, here is a pic from the Common Structures 10 library. This does not have any buildings in it. That will be a separate library.
Be very careful, anyone, using the golf carts. I would put no more than 2 at a time for each hole. They are point hogs. The rocks are all old designs that I thought should be included. All the rest are new structures.
Thoughts? |

Fist off, I reduced the number of textures from 5 sets to 3 in the textures library. It was just too big with 5 sets, and too hard to navigate through. As far as the structures go, I ended up using the regular LC to create them. I know the modified one gives better lighting, but for some reason I just can't get it to cooperate concerning texture mapping. So, as long as your shader is set to low, they look like they should. I figured that was the best trade-off. Because of that, I did not need to include all the rocks, since they are available in another library. So that library is now close to ready for release.
Once again, any testers? |

Well, thanks to axe360 and jimbo63, everything was sorted out and the library is now available. Sorry in advance to those without high speed. The file is a bit large at 37 megs or so. Cheers |

Jimbo, I am putting together a library with misc structures, such as walls, fences and other things. I can also add in a few rock textures that can be used for surfaces. I have found some that look very good in the game and tile fantastically. here are some samples |

I am looking at pulling the two new libraries I recently uploaded in order to include a few more textures, like the rocks and such. What do you all think, even the admins. Should I pull the libs and rework them or just make an extra one to use after-wards for all the stuff I missed. I know there have been "some" downloads of the current releases, but not all that many, so I am not sure which way would be the best approach.
Thanks |

It's a toss up to me.. I like having less libs, however the texture lib you have, has a lot of textures in it already and it is a lot to scroll thru. But, if you took all the rocks out of that texture lib and then made 1 lib for all the rocks, I would like that. It sure makes it nice to type in Rocks in the Search box and get rock libs, otherwise you could very well miss some gr8 rocks if the name was just textures.. Only a suggestion..
But!!!! Either way you go is fine by me, cause I just type in Your name in the search box and look up your libs.:)
I hope that helps.. |

Thanks, what I think I will do is make one more library for everything that gets left out of the others, and call it Common Extras - lol. |

Hi all, when I created and tested and had others test as well, we never noticed any frame rate problems, but now that it is released, I am noticing it. It really slows down your system. So I am wondering if I should adjust the grass properties to get a better mix of quality vs performance. What do you all think? Please help. I hate to release a version 2 of anything, but I think this would be a good choice to do it on.
Thanks in advance,
Steve |
