Does anyone know how to modify green speeds, particularly to make them faster?

My computer is old and can only run Tiger Woods 2004. Gleneagles and Bannockburn US Open (2004) are some big name course downloads with that 'linoleum'-like quickness i want.

I assumed I'd just find the parameters in the .tcr file and adjust them, but that'd be too easy! (need to find a .tcr editor or something that understands that format? - already tried and failed - I think the tcr editors I tried were intended for other programs altogether)

The designer of Gleneagles says he used the greens from the Manassas 2004 library, which, simple-mindedly, leads me to believe you just need that particular library applied to the desired course somehow (never worked either - tried in course utilities/copying + renaming files). I've obviously never designed a course; but I only want to change that one detail on courses that have already been designed, for instance: Augusta 2004, Bethpage Black. Course architect wouldn't let me open or modify any of those files either.

Setting to very dry is simply not quick enough, it's too easy - I want to have to take a lot of borrow for breaking puts and be forced to lag put, not jam in everything. Until I get a new graphics card/computer, what can I do to change green speeds in Tiger Woods 2004? I bet there was something in all my searching for this answer that I overlooked, right!?

thanks!!

No way to adjust the stock libs and no way to adjust the custom libs unless you were the library architect.

hey thanks for the quick response....that's not what i expected to hear. my only other sim experiences are in flight simulator where you can change and modify anything, like trees, planes, textures, runway braking action, etc., with pretty simple editors. you can see my mentality there. i assumed since it is a program the code could be re-written but i am missing some logic there, i know. thanks very much!!

Not sure about my level, I have never played online seeing as how I only have 04'. I've always assumed only a few people still play 2004 anyway. Do you mean 'level' like 'difficulty level'; as in rookie, novice, etc.? It's more fun playing at the rookie level but I normally play tiger or another pro at 'expert' since playing tournaments are always closer against the computer with no grids, club distances, forgiveness, etc. I assume you can't play online with your custom player and at 100% attributes, everyone would break 40 every time!?

I know difficulty-wise it wouldn't matter having faster greens once you figure their speeds, I just think it's cool to have to give that much break, I guess visually fun. Like to be able to recreate Tiger's #16 in 05' at Augusta...you need 'very difficult'(Sunday) pins in tw04' and 'very dry' greens, but the greens are still waayy to slow to recreate his roll.

If anyone does play 04' online, I wonder how the requirements are different to play? I read somewhere on this site you are allowed 75% attributes nowadays, but I guess that's only for one tournament host's specs. Thanks for replies!
