Moved from Course Manager forum to The Course Source forum |

Any ideas? I've designed a course, modified it several times and compiled it successfully and played the course. Today, after making some mods (and optimizing detail and repairing course) the course compile crashes and I get the "we're sorry we have to close" and the "send error report to Microsoft?" question. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? |

I would try to retrace my steps, what were the modifications? Did you remove any libs? Maybe you have a sticky one.
Do you use the CLTOOL? This tool is your best friend... |

Hi... When you are using Coursearchitect06...it is good idea to install CLtool06 With CLtool06 you can cloak (;disable) libraries you dont need for your new course. It is good idea to uncloak (;enable)only the libraries you need for your new course. There is very good help section inside the Cloaking tool (;when you installed CLtool06: open CLtool06...and on right side you will see: help ) CLtool is very easy to use To install CLtool06: on top of homepage of coursedownloads go to: Utilities....Utilities and files for TW06...Course design tools.
Or go to link below:

Thanks very much. I'll give it a try. I've been getting a message that says I've deleted a library that the course needs, and I need to reinstall it. I have no idea how to figure out what library I need to reinstall! |

you can find the missing library with Cloaking tool. Once you installed CLtool do next steps: open CLtool...and hit: Projects Choose: New.....and add name in box: Project name Now in box: Architect document...browse to the coursearchitect file (; .tca)
Next time when you dubble click on the project name (;text ) you will receive all info about your course. You will see also what libraries are used. When you are missing a library you will see a big number, something like this:
Example: {1206040C-9F26-4AF2-8D23-DB863E764BF2}
When you found the number.....reply on this post and add the number in the forum reply, we will tell you the name of the missing library. |

If you havent already, try deleting that project in CLTool and making a new one... I have had that happen before... :)
**Also look over the list in the Libraries tab, and make sure some you are or were using are not cloaked... |

Here are the numbers of the two libraries the course needs but are not installed. How do you figure out which libraries these refer to?! |

downloaded WS-Extras, and tried to install with CL Setup. I get a long error message that says this library is different than the one already installed, and I need to delete the one already installed and reinstall this one? |

You already have WS-Extras installed ? Maybe you can try to uninstall, and reinstall the last one. |

Hey Gunpower, is there a list that decodes those numbers to a library?

Hey SIR PUTTERMAN, this may not help as I use WinXP. I only checked the Tree Lighting Box a couple of times in the beginning of designing Sandia GC. Then I got brave and with over 300 saves, I never checked that box one time.. And I think it turned out ok..
I know that doesnt help you with your problem, wish I could. But once you get it ironed out, you may think about this..

Hey SIRPUTTERMAN, you may want to check this out. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx Just be sure your proccessor is capable of running it.
I got the CA to compile under 7 ultimate 32-bit R/C with nothing checked and had some funky issues when actually playing a course in the game. However, my cpu doesn't handle V/M so I have 2 partitions, one with XP and the other I just installed 7 64-bit ult.
Good luck. |
