This is a new problem I am suddenly getting after comiling a course in CA.
Having done all the usual checks in CA for course errors, I compile the .tca file to become a .tcr for use in TW08 game. Using TW Caddy to install the course in TW, when I go into the TW08 game and select the course, the game loads the data in order to go to the 1st tee. When the "loading bar" has gone all the way to the right, I should be at the 1st tee, but the game ctd! TW Caddy states that all libs are "true", so there does not appear to be problems there. I am also able to d/l other custom courses and install these into TW08 using the Caddy. They play successfully, so the problem is not with the Caddy. I have sent my .tcr file to Bullpupp who has succeeded in installing the compiled [by him] .tcr into the game. I have since uninstalled CA and then re-installed the program. This has not made the problem go away.
I am really at a loss as to why this has suddenly appeared. Any ideas please?

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.

I am not familiar with the CL Tool, but I have d/l it, run the program and I am comfused by the help facility.
How do I use this utility program properly to solve my problem? How do sticky libs affect the game?

Bose,
I must be extremely thick. Please bear with me. I followed your instructions until where you said "save". There was nowhere a facility to save the project. There was a "new" button along with "update" and "delete". In the libs folder, there was nowhere to "delete" sticky libs. Can you enlighten please?

My bad, no need to save. Double click on the new file, you'll see on the right side for fix sticky and such, you'll need to save after you choose those I meant lol. |

Boze,
Finally got there. Double clicked the new project, got to fix 1 sticky lib, one which I don't remember using, and saved the file as a new .tca. Compiled the new file, but I still get a ctd after loading in the game. Problem continues. This really is getting to me!!!!

Boze,
Almost got there. Uninstalled the custom libs [ only 4 in use]. Re-installed them into TW08 using TW Caddy. Left the existing stock lib in situ, WES. Compiled the course. When I went to the game, instead of going to the 1st tee, I appeared in long grass then ctd. So:
1: I appeared to start the game in long grass and not the tee box.
2: After approx 2 seconds the game ctd.
Slowly getting there. Should I re-intall WES lib which is in the Westerhester course folder? I am not sure if this action will screw things up?

Make sure your shot path is correct..Starting in the tee box, must be a tee texture. |

TeeOff, I dont want to confuse the issue as Boze is walking you thru it perfectly. But in this pic, in the circled area is where any libs that are missing would be.. It wont give you the name of the lib, but it will give you the Guid numbers. So if you have any missing libs they would show up in the circled area or right below the installed libs... But stick with Boze and you should get there.. I just wanted to show you where the missing libs would be shown, if any.. Forgive the crude pic..:) No sorries Boze, all good:) |

Lawrence,
It sounds like you have the read-only box checked in your position.ini file. |

Bobby,
I think you cracked it. I recall the last time I compiled courses was when I was putting the finishing touches to Cantigny. I checked the box in the position.ini file to make it read only in order to retain the correct data for each hole. I know that I would not have remembered to uncheck the read only box. I will check this out tonight when I get home. That would explain why I am teeing off on the 1st tee with the announcer saying he is in the rough but he may be OK, before ctd.
Thanks all for your help, it was driving me nuts! I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Problem solved. It was a simple case of a read only position.ini file which I should have un-checked. Thanks all for your help, I am now back in action. Hope to have Hermitage GC out shortly.
