Need some help here. I have Windows 7 64 bit and I can play the game fine, but when I use the Course Architect and try to compile, the compile screen hangs at the point shown in the below pic. I have tried running in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 and disabled desktop composition and desktop themes. Anyone know anything else to try?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that, Boze. Actually, I already did. According tho the article, you must have either Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate to be able to take advantage of that. I have Windows Home Premium. No way I am paying $199 to upgrade - lol. I will just keep my dual boot with XP as the 2nd OS and use it when I need to compile a course. It will be a pain, but I can manage. Unless someone comes up with a way . . . .

And Axe - NO, I am not working on a new course - lol. I have just been busy installing all my software onto Windows 7 and trying it all out. So far, compiling in the CA is the ONLY thing that has not functioned correctly!!!

Did some more experimentation. Seems I can compile using Windows 7 but only if there are no objects on the course. Hmmmm . . . . .

I compiled a few times in 7 and some of the plants would turn out and some would be strange looking blocks..

Yea, I think I remember compiling without tree lighting checked, was the only way it worked for me. The plantation did all sorts of strange things as in blocked out, disappear, then re-appear when I went to hit the ball lol. I just gave up with windows 7 for that..

Steve, if you figure out away, Please let us know! ; )

Freeware version of M$ Virtual PC...
Lets you run any of them in any of them... User manual also available for dl, but its pretty straight-forward...

Got the software installed and am able to run XP inside of Windows 7 through it. Later I will install CA and try making a simple course with lots of objects to see if it compiles correctly. Will get back to you . . . . . . .

later that same evening . . . .

Okay, got everything working. The only thing is that it is on a virtual drive which is invisible to the Windows 7 OS and the normal hard drives are invisible to the Virtual Box XP OS. So yes, I can create a course and compile it using this software while still running my Windows 7 but then I would need to burn it to a CD so I could use it on the other OS. I tried using a thumb drive, but the virtual box does not see it, either. If I could get that working then it would be a good way to go. I will keep looking at it to see if there is a way to get a flash drive to work.
