I have made embossed frames for logo and splash screen for TW08. They can be used as layers in PS format. Maybe other image programs will accept them also, but I wouldnt bet on it. They should be available in the utilities section. |

Thank you Martijn.
And please, if someone can write a mini tutorial on how exactly to put a pic into one of these, I would be very gr8ful.... :) For the life of me I cant figure it out. Rookie here, but if I had some step by step instructions, I would be in the debt of whomever would do this. Thanks
And please dont say Google it. lol
For Photo shop. |

I agree Larry...I feel like I am burdening those who know how...I have screen caps I'd love to use...how do you get them behind the template? |

Dude I wish I knew, I cant make anything work on these. I know its possible, but alas, I will have to stick with a basic pano, or go to school. Poor jimi, bless his heart, he tried to help me. |

Lol. It's really not that hard. Step 1: Photoshop works with layers. You use your template as the top layer. Step 2: You take the picture you want inside your frame, hit ctrl+a to select it, hit 'c' to copy it, then you go back to your frame image and hit 'v' to paste your copied image. In your PS window on the right you should see a tab that says 'layers-channels-paths'. Ordinarily the layers tab is open. Put your cursor on the layer you have just pasted (a pointing finger wille appear.) Left-click to drag it below your frame layer. Step 3:(Optional.) You probably need to adapt the size of your image to the size of the frame. Select 'edit-free transform'. You'll see two windows on your top bar saying W:100,0% and H:100,0% with a chain like symbol in between. Left-click to activate it. It will keep the sides of your image in proportion. Now put your cursor on the bottom right-hand corner of the image (you probably will have to zoom out to be able to grab it: ctrl - _zoom in is ctrl +). You will see a diagional arrow appear pointing both ways. This will allow you to resize your image by just grabbing and moving it diagonally. Step 4: Go back to your frame layer, select your magic wand tool and click outsidet he frame. No select your pasted image layer and hit 'delete'. You will now have deleted the parts of the image that stick out from the frame. Select 'layer-merge visible' to merge your layers. Step 5: Open a logo and/or splash image from any of the stock TW08 libraries. They'll both be in dds format and be called 'logo' or 'BOS' or another abbreviation in three capital letters for the splash. Copy and paste your logo/splash onto it. Resize like you did before to get them to fit over the original splash and logo. Step 6: When it fits perfectly, merge your layers again and click your magic wand on the black area outside the logo/splash (the little left top corner may need an extra click while holding shift) and inverse your selection by hitting shift-ctrl-i. Step 6: Select the tab 'channels' on the right of your PS window. Delete the alpha channel that's already there and create a new one by right clicking on the little square at the far right of the layers-channels-paths tab. Now hit delete to open up the part of the alpha channel that you want the game to see. Save logo as dds file and splash as tga file and you're good to go. Sounds complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't be a problem. If you can master the CA you sure as hell ought to be able to master this, lol. |

Neat. And you're welcome of course. Saves me a lot of work now that you know how to do it yourself, lol. Teach a man to fish, and all that... |

LOL With computer knowledge, I need many yrs of fishing....
Boy, I'm about to have to do all this Logo & splash stuff, and thanks for the cool looking logo & splash. I will give it go soon for my course once I get it completely done. It's got all the holes done except the 18th hole. I trying to come up with a hole that is a good closing hole, and finding a idea for closing hole is tougher than I though it would be because I want it to be a OK closer. Plus I gotta play around with some plantings still to test to see if it can add to performance side of things by blocking view of some parts of course. Many things to know with all this designing stuff, but it's so fun to do.

axe ... you could have asked for the PS files i used for some of your splashes, then changed the image, text etc :)
i use a slightly different method using alpha channels etc, not as much copy/pasting, deleting etc
but theres many ways to skin the fish ... once you learn to fish :) |

If I had remembered Jb, I surely would of hit you up. Thank you, I know you would have helped me.
And I think it's (there's more then one way to skin a Cat) lol.
And fishing is all about what your fishing for, each fish has a different method of catching it.
I normally fish for lake trout, em yum yum. But this time I was learning some bass fishing,
But seriously, this is a prime example of one reason I love this. So many of you don't mind helping us learn. Thanks again :) |
