It does indeed look good. One suggestion which may not work as I'm not sure about the elevations but.... if you lost that rough texture in front of the tee on the par 3 you might be able to see the lake from the tee, if not maybe consider raising the tee a little, its alway nice (scarier) if you can see the water.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys.

I will have a look at that Munroco. The drop is approx 6 metres down to the ocean. I was trying to get a bit of a fear factor into the hole, so that might work.

Thanks

Just posting some new views of the course. Most holes are laid out with elevations. Working on bunkers now, about half way now. Still need to add paths, some more structures and other details.

Your doing very well my friend, that links is looking good. My money's on you getting even better with course designing in the future........
Still gotta get to your 1st release, and will eventually. Should have some time after tomorrow hopefully to play some of these cool courses that have been released lately.
I feel I'm fighting a uphill battle to play courses here, help meeeeeee.... :P

Thanks for the comments everyone. I take all on board as that is why I post pics to see what people think and what they see that may need changing.

Squirrely, I'm enjoying my course designs at the moment. I'm planning on one more fantasy course after this one, before I attempt a real course. I will start gathering info for my real course while I work on my next one.

I'm just downloading some more courses now to try. There are some cool new ones. Also just started the PGAX tour and this one, so the designing may have to wait a little.

Yeah,
PGAX is cool, I just joined not to long ago, much fun it is. Very challenging Expert is, and I couldn't even hit it straight off tee at 1st, but with much practice I can almost manage a course now. I had to take a step back from designing once I saw what expert players went through with things. Change some of the things I thought would be cool to have on my course it did, and I'm trying to find a good balance between how difficult a course plays for novice-expert, this can be tough to figure out for me, but hopefully I get it close.

I would take that advice with seeing water off tee. I myself am trying to make sure water is seen off tee with things too on holes I make. Even went back to fix a hole I had so player could water on my course I trying to make.

Good luck

I have pasted an image to show the effect that I am looking at with the fairway bunkers I have placed in my above photo's.
This image is from Joondalup Resort in Perth, Western Australia. The course is a Robert Trent Jones Jnr designed course. It does have a few different ideas, with this type of bunker being one of them.

I'm looking at reproducing a couple of renditions of Australian courses, and Joondalup is one I'm looking at. I'm also considering The vines Resort, which hosts the Johnny Walker Classic here in Perth, and also considering Royal Melbourne. I may try all three, over the course of the next year. I will go to the Johnny Walker in February and get photo's of it all set up for tournaments and photo's of the course in general. In the meantime, I think I will start practicing some of the TA, to get the courses laid out and start looking at them.

I think I'm just rambling a bit, trying to get started for a Monday morning. Have a good day all.

Hi Craig,

Looking forward to your course and even more so to the Australian courses on the agenda.

Like you I have just started the PGAX tour and I hope you are faring better than me, as I have not broken 100 yet, after only ever playing Novice level.

I certainly are not having fun, but a very tough challenge. hehehe

Hi Brian,

Yeah the PGAX one is tough. I'm averaging about +15 - +20 at the moment, but that is on 3 click. I haven't braved the trueswing yet. I tried it oonce and could not get the ball straight. I need a bit more practice on that one.

I'm looking forward to doing a few of the Australian courses, especially when you see the coverage and know them. I watch a lot from the US tour which is great when you download the course and can see the effort people put in.

I'm looking at The Vines, as it is just around the corner from me. I will get over there for a game before the tournament so that I can start the course, and get some photos. Joondalup is another which is only half an hour away and is in natural bushland. Is there any others that you think would have info easily available from other states? I can probably get enough for Royal Melbourne, which I would love to do as it is one of our top rated courses.

I should be releasing this course in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks

Craig

Cool, would like to see Australian type courses.
We just watched Australia the movie(;Cool movie by the way),and Ive personally have always loved Australia. Suppose some of this love comes from my Surfing ways when I use to surf all the time, and the accents are way cool too. They have some of the coolest sayings in Australia too. Never been there, but it would right up there on my list of places I would like to see before leaving this world.

I scored 140-180 or so my 1st time ever playing under expert, it was just plain ugly....hehehe
It took me some time to finally be able to hit the ball straight, but after the aggravation of somewhat learning it while trying to hitting many many shots in practice mode, the payoff was nice. Putting takes some time too to get sweet touch too, and Ive gotten somewhat better at my lag putting, but still blow past the hole here & there if I dont have my focus on. Im finding expert pretty cool, and glad I took the jump even though at 1st it was very aggravating at times. I couldnt imagine hitting that fast 3-click swing meter under expert because when I moved up from novice 3-click to intermediate, I had to switch to True-swing because I couldnt hit that blazing fast swing meter on the mark at all under intermediate. That swing meter was screaming under intermediate so I know expert has got to be cruising like a mad man. Bet its thought to hit on the mark, and not much room for error being off the line.

All I know is those Squirrels in that picture above looks awesome....LOL
Whats golf without some Squirrels running around

Everyone have a good day

Yeah, it's not a bad place. I highly recommend it to anyone. There are a lot of great places to visit, and as you say, the surfing at the beaches is pretty good too.

Back to the golf. The 3 click meter isn't to forgiving if you don't hit it on the right spot. You can still hook, pull or slice a ball badly if you don't time it right. I can get it ok for some shots, then the next one can go anywhere. I think at the moment it is the putting letting me down, especially the 2-3ft ones. They are hard on the 3 click as the meter is so quick. I'll get there with it eventually. Practice, practice, practice.

There are plenty if Australian courses I would like to do, it's just a time factor. They are designed a bit differently here, and some of the bunkers are a lot different too. I'll probably start on the courses in the next couple of weeks. I just want to get this one finished first. Not far off now.
