I'm having blue textures on the course I'm doing, and I don't now what to do now........:(
I has some of this blue stuff show up early on in the design, but it went away when I got over to the holes & did the elevation work & optimizing it went away. I went ahead & figured it would go away like the the first 9 holes did, but it isn't. I made up my back 9 & laid it out today, and did all the elevations surrounding my holes except on the fairways & greens themselves. I have tried some other libraries out to see how they would look in game, and I probably messed it all up doing that. Might just start over with a with a whole different project, and make sure I know what libraries I'm going to use at the start. Will just have to spend a day testing how each library looks in game next time, and it will be nice when I get to know all of the libraries good to know what looks & works good.
I was really happy with how things where turning out, and at least I got some nice elevation experience making some links like hills all over the place. Can having serious elevations on a course mess things all up like this? I did all my smoothing & optimizing in buffer zones, and my zones around a hole had no more than 5,000-10,000 points, I think.
I'm not close to the CA plot edge, and here is a picture of blue textures Back nine view below:

All the blue is in my buffer zones around my holes.
Here is what the front 9 hills are like, and did I do to much elevation work.

Those are transparent textures. You have exceeded the maximum point count on that particular texture. I cover solutions in my Design Tips tut.
There is no such thing as too much elevation work in my view ... only too little elevation work! LOL With plenty of smoothing and smart optimizing, you will not run into any problems. My Royal County Down had lots of elevation work and was close to 200K points, but if you spread out the point count across various textures, you will be fine. |

OK Yeah, thats probably it because I have that one texture all over the course(;2200x2200) right now, and I was really bummed after I couldnt figure out why it was doing this. So much to know with this stuff, but Im going learn course design even if it kills me...... :P
I need to study the libraries & have my act together before jumping on a course the next time. Kinda got excited with wanting to try a course out, but should have kept doing little project holes for a bit longer. Just need to go back, and read & watch the tutorials again because I probably forgot some things while trying to cram so much info in such little time.
Thanks for the help Squirrely |
