I used Terrain Assist to import the terrain from a seaside golf course (on top of a cliff). It seems that Terrain Assist misinterprets the height values if there's sealevel ocean and makes the land much too high (i.e. 1,000 meters too high). Therefore my course plot has cliffs that are higher than Mt. Everest in relation to the sea.
Is there anyway to correct this? I think it's also screwing up my panorama.
BTW: I'm using Course Architect 06 and TW08.
Thanks for any help. |

Although I don´t use the TA myself, I have some experience with it and I´d say your elevations are bound to be off, especially on water areas. It seems to give the elevation of the lake bed of sea bottom or whatever. So you´ll have to put some work into getting it flat at the right elevation. Read the tutorials and proceed carefully. I believe this is your first course. Let me give you some advice. As a rule it is not a good idea to start your design career with a real course. Although with the help of the TA and stuff the initial stages may seem simple, the actual work only begins after that. I´d suggest you learn your way around the different CA tools with a fictional project first. Of course it´s up to you. |

What is TWC?
That some good info right there to remember if I ever learn to use TA. I would have never though about TA figuring the underwater elevations too.
What would you do in that case? Raise the lake/ocean or bring down the course plot down if that is even possible.
Plus, I have been thinking how much work is involved & the experience needed to do a real course. Copy something would seem to be alot for me to take on right now until I know more techniques in CA..
