I'm having a problem with my CA. The course I am working on appears to be missing some libraries. The CL tool gives me only a bunch of characters, i.e. 4BA0F230-4794-4095-88AA-D20C633DCFFE, which I can only find in the swap files. Is there a way to find out which libs these symbols refer to? I admit to some computer illiteracy.

That is the GUID for the library. You can do a search on this site by the GUID for any released files. Just make sure you include the { } around them. I tried the one above but no results came up.

Hi...

4BA0F230-4794-4095-88AA-D20C633DCFFE

It is the TW08 stock library: Pebble Beach golf links 2008

Good idea to try to play Pebble beach 2008......maybe you deleted the library by accident.

Also good idea to do a analyse installation with TWCaddie08.
Maybe you have the problem of misnamed files, see link below:

http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=5944

Note: can you post the other missing guides Jimi ?...we can try to find them.

Have you tried strip in the CL tool? Also I think that the listing in CA file->Properties should have all the libs for the tca listed.

I kind of made a rule for myself that I try to avoid uninstalling or cloaking libs after I start a project. I start with kind of a base set, and only add libs while deveoping the course.

Perhaps none of the above applies to your specific problem, but hopefully they will illuminate the more general topic for the masses.

Good Call Pat.

NOTE: The texture numbers may sometimes be incorrect for stock libraries, since there are textures that are not shown in the library view in the architect. (Non-surface textures) Texture numbers in custom libraries should always be correct though.

You can find this any many other helpful notes, in the cltools help section.

I'd rather not strip the course. I did fix the sticky libs, but there are still 3 unaccounted for. One's apparently Pebble Beach, which is indeed missing. The other two are {51FB26F6-4B80-462A-9121-6530895444EA} and
{B10391FB-657E-4DED-B2D5-95B09530E280} . Can't find them on the site, but I suppose these are missing stocks too.

Yes Axe is correct.....

You can do a search in the library section by the GUID for any released libraries. Just make sure you REMOVE the { } around them.
When you don t remove the { } you will not find the libraries.

(; note: you can t find TW08 stock libraries by guid search, because they are not available for download )

Hope you find out what is wrong Jimi so nothing is lost or messed up, and I wish I knew enough to be able to help you out.......

I think I accidentally lost a 06 Pebble Beach library when messing around with CLTool for the first time yesterday, and it showed a + sign with no name next to it under Libraries/CLTool. I just uninstalled TW06, CLTool, and CLSeup then install it all again to make sure everything would be OK. It was all good after I install everything back.

I gotta be extra careful when I do start making courses for keeps because I'm not the best with a PC, and could lose everything, but I just got so excited yesterday after watching the first 4-5 tutorials. I just started making two shape method hills all over the place on my hole because I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Wanted some 08 library to test out so I went to do CLTool program without reading/watching all the directions, and I did something wrong to make that PB 06 library disappear, I think.
Can you cloak all TW 06 stock libraries in CLTool ?

If it wasn't for all the great turorials made by the designers. I wouldn't stand a chance to make a course, but even with them, it's going to be a uphill battle with so much to learn. I'm going to show more patience, and watch/read all the turorials before diving into the deep end of the pool again. Just wanted to make a playable hole so bad, I went from A straight to C, and just flew right over B in the process. B(experience) is the most important part, and I can't cut corners with all that. I'm trying to learn as much as I can myself with all this, so I don't bother everyone here in the forums with a million questions.

Hey Pat, I did include the {} and it worked.

Squirrely, you can cloak all the 06 libs, I always cloak libs Im not using, makes the list smaller to scroll thru.

Just remember, if you make a copy of your last work, you can mess around and do anything, if you dont like it, just go back to that copy. They are life savers!!!

I have discovered something strange with this library problem. CLSetup tells me to uninstall the offending library with Course Utilities (from TW06, I presume) but that is no longer present on my pc. In fact TW06 seems to have disappeared entirely, except for the TW06 CLSetup tool. Nevertheless I was able to uninstall and reinstall the CA without problems. Have I stumbled on a way to install it without having TW06 installed?
