I've searched all the forums on all the sites but couldn't find this exact problem.
What setting in the Grass Props controls the spread of the blades to adjacent textures? I am having problems with them spreading into bunkers (not a big deal) and retaining walls (very big deal). |

Are your examples instances of deep rough against "flat" textures?
I think the game or the video driver may be attempting to make a blended transition from deep rough to rough. I have an NVidia 9300GX.
I only get this with deep rough, and it's most noticable when I have the rough setting at "very deep". The bunkers are easy to fix, just surround them with a regular rough.
Keeping the deep stuff away from paths is tricky, you have to plan you buffer textures just right I think, and flot the deep stuff in the vacant areas. Intgration of buffer shapes/textures and paths is high on my list of stuff to plan ahead for with my next effort. |

One of the things you can do is turn down your rough setting in the game to low or medium.
This is how the 08 stock grass behaves, it is not like the old type of blade grass. (;I do like 08 grass effects)
It is very difficult for anyone to create a perfect match of the stock rough textures.(;Grass Effects Impossible without using the software EA used) The lighting in the game reacts to each texture. Custom made textures usually dont work as well with the lighting. However, the tee box texture, bunker, fringe and green can be created and blended very easy. (;They will work fine with the lighting)
You can try using a 07 stock rough, that may cure this, than it would work like the stuff you can create in the LC. It would also work ok with the lighting in the game.
What you can control in the 06 LC is how thick the grass is, how much grass is in a patch, than how wide each blade is. (;At the same time you cant create the grass effects as seen in 08)
This is what the 08 grass effects look like when they are set to low. The weedrough (;yellow) than the normal rough (;green) as you can see my green rough doesnt look like yours, and it is using the same grass effects. |
