With Baltusrol coming along at a rapid pace I was wondering if anyone could throw together four structures for me. I have a clock which stands near the

clubhouse, the plaque commemorating Jack Nicklaus's famous 1 iron shot, the clubhouse, and another structure between the 18th green and the first tee. Let me

know if you are interested by either replying, PMing me or email me at bobbybolin@msn.com.

Thanks!

Bobby,

I saw a few features when I went to this course back in 05. The bunkers all had grass walls that were built up. Not like Oakmont per say maybe half the size. If I ever redid my course cause of the 07 and 08 graphics I would have to re-do all the bunkers. This is a good picture taken from the program guide. The other thing I really picked up on was how massive the trees were. Which almost makes this course impossible to get the correct look of each and every shot on the course. I am not one of these guys that did super fake planting, I tried to simulate as many of the real trees in the correct places as possible. Baltusrol, just has these 150 foot trees around the holes, they were so big and massive that I never found anything in the Stock Trees to simulate this. That is basically the look of the course.

On a personal note when watching this tournament, I thought this course would be impossible to shoot any kind of good score on in real life. It is 7,300 yards, every hole is like 460 to 510 yards. It is just long. The course is not very hilly. Every hole is pretty much what you see. Maybe 8 has a little bit of a tricky tee shot. I think it may have been hole 5 or 6 that has a hogs back in the middle of the fairway which if you hit, the ball goes in to the rough. The fairways were kind of tight, and if you miss them you usually have a million yards in to the greens. The par 3s were all good holes and you have to hit good shots in them. If not, it would be easy to make a boggie. The rough was very thick grass also, it was the dense stuff that just eats up your golf ball. I saw someone built this course for 08, to be honest, it was really far off.

This is also kind of hard to create, that is a pond with a stone wall around it. I never got this hole correct, cause the green is double teared than the bunkers are raised up in to hills behind it.

One last thing that was different on this course than most, is that the fairways dont run up in to the greens. Like hole 17. I am one of these visual people, with that course feature it is very difficult to get a good look around the green. You really have to work hard on this. You dont want it to look chezzy, which can happen very easy on this course if you are not careful.

Looks pretty good so far, I like what you did with that wall. I wonder if this will work. Here is something I used to help.

Absoluletly beautful Jimi!

The others were a clock, a plaque, and a small building similar to the clubhouse.

I appreciate all the help you give me. Amazing stuff.

Here's your clock, Bobby. That second house, I can only see the roof, so that's bit tricky. I'll give it a go.

Your plaque to commemorate some 1 iron achievement by Jack Nicklaus. No idea what.

Jack Nicklaus: 1-iron to the 18th at Baltusrol, 1967

Nicklaus came to the final hole at the New Jersey course needing a par 5 to tie Ben Hogan's Open scoring record (276), and a birdie to break it.

Nicklaus, after a pushed drive and chunked second shot, had 230 yards to the hole.

Needing just a bogey 6 for the win, Nicklaus declined to play it safe, instead taking out a 1-iron and whistling it toward the green. The elliptical shot came to rest 20 feet from the flag and Nicklaus rolled in the subsequent putt for a then-record 275 total.
