Hey...
Trying to edit the blimp, but I can't seem to get the Furrycats Extractor to work for me... I have followed the directions included in the zip, but when I try to run Unpacker.bat I get a very quick DOS screen flash...
No folders/directories are created, and it doesn't appear to do anything... I also tried CMD to get the DOS window to stay open, but it doesn't record anything (no error or confirmation)...
Anyone have any idea what I may have done wrong...? Or is there another way to get into the cls.tbf file ?
Thanks Rob |

example
1. create a folder called : blimp unzip FC into it (;8 files) paste cls.tbf file into it copy/paste EVERYTHING in the folder, paste it back into the same folder so you have a copy when you pack it back up, or change the .bat files
2. right click UnPacker.bat, select edit so it opens in notepad should look like this: tbfunpack textures.tbf textures change it to: tbfunpack cls.tbf CLS [unpack action]...[filename]...[destination folder name] * this unpacks the cls.tbf file into a folder named CLS save .bat file
3. in CLS folder, copy/paste blimp.dds so it makes a copy file then open blimp.dds with photoshop or other image program make changes save .dds file
when done (;youll edit it 4-5, maybe 100 times before you get something you like)
4. right click packer.bat, select edit so it opens in notepad should look like this: tbfpack textures textures.tbf change it to: tbfpack CLS cls.tbf [pack action]...[foldername]...[destination file name] * this unpacks the cls.tbf file into a folder named CLS save .bat file
5. test in a course that uses blimp - doral etc (;note: it sometimes takes a min or 2 for the blimp to appear, usually from right side on #1 at doral) see how it looks zoom in with W or other key take screenshot for reference go back and make changes LOL |

UH...OH....
Well, somehow my game crashes as soon as I try to start any course now.... :( I put all the original files back, and still....no fun....(man...playtime didn't last very long this time...) :)
I followed the directions...I promise... only thing that wasn't the same was when I opened in notepad, the path was already correct, I didn't have to change anything....
Guess I screwed something up... lol...bummer
I wouldn't be lucky enough for anyone to know what I could have messed up....huh?
Thanks

so just put the original cls.tbf file back in and good to go ... the one you copied/pasted in Step 1. so it showed up as blimp\Copy of cls.tbf
it goes in C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\Generic\cls
offhand i'd say it was saved in the wrong dds format
what image program are you using?
but that shouldn't really cause the game not to work, should just have no blimp
original file should be 22,699 KB with a file date of 7/20/2007 10:16 am that's the only file you should have replaced back into the Generic\cls folder baove |

Using Paint.net
Just did a quick little edit to see where all these weird shapes end up...lol.. And saved...(;already in dds format, and I didnt change anything) didnt even save as because I had already made a copy of the dds file. Then packed it back up... I must have done something wrong somewhere down the line... I tried to put the old one back, no luck... If I packed it wrong, corrupting the file, so to speak, would that cause this? Odd though, that it still wont work with the original back in place.....
......crap......
One day Ill learn not to mess with stuff.....(;thats a lie)..... :)
Guess Ill do a fresh install.... then try again...lmao... (;but I, going to play around with it first)
Thanks JB |

Here is an example of what the dds picture map looks like compared to how it is wrapped around the blimp ingame.

no need to reinstall unless you want to
on the dvd is a large zip file: 0compressed.zip it will be in there
when you uninstall, then reinstall, the non default folders/files will remain so any custom courses, libs should still be there, with the required registry links
not sure what happened there - cls.tbf in the Generic\cls\ folder is the only file that should have changed and even if the the blimp.dds, or other files, got munched - should not effect the game like that
i asked about the image program as .dds has a number of formats used/available when saving - you have the nvidia plugins? |

Cool, thanks JB, I didn't realize I could get that right off the disk like that...
The only thing I have to go with Paint.net is the dds thumbnail viewer..and the mask/template files...:)
Here is the option window that opens when saving, I didn't change anything...

probably, but that setting is more with the Alpha layer properties
might also try editing/sharpening your source images before adding them to the blimp
youre only working with 512x512 for the whole thing the upper portion, roughly 256 max height so your central image should be sharp, clear at approx 200-210 height
and the blimp is typically viewed from a distance, so less is more :) lots of space between objects etc
text - choose a basic font, TT (;truetype)and may have to edit letter spacing too
only 99 more edits to go LOL |
