I have a quick question and I was wondering if anyone knew how to answer. I recently found out you can use the 08 courses in Tiger Woods 07. I want to play 07 because I have spent hours making careers with the editor (;and it does not work with 08).
The courses do run, save for water. I have taken all libraries and courses and added them to 07, but the water is simply not present.
Heres my querry:
Is there a way to get the water in these 08 courses being played in TW 07? |

| What exactly do you see where the water is supposed to be? And does this happen on stock and custom courses? |

On the "normal" view, it is sort of a grayish. If I move to another view, say move the camera higher up, whatever was on the screen prior is still there. So if the guys leg is on the screen on the "normal" view, and I switch to a higher up view, the water isn't gray, I still see everything exactly as it was with his leg. I will try to post a screenshot.
I do not have any custom courses installed, only the EA ones (and all the ones from 04-08, but only 08 are having this problem...I am playing in TW 07). |

| Have you adjusted your settings at all to see if that fixed it? I never actually played 07, but I do know that there were some issues with the water in the game... Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for both of us. |

| Yes, I adjust every setting testing things out...nothing worked. Ouch. Now I have the 08 courses in my career season, but they show no water, only the above mess. |

| Is your 07 game the default install or have you installed the patch that was released for the 07 game? I remember that when 07 came out, there was a lie problem with the game (ie the ball could be on a sidehill lie but would go straight when you hit it. A patch came out which fixed that but also changed something with the water on courses. If you are using the default install, you may want to try patching the game. If you have patched it, you may want to see if you can restore the original EXE file from the DVD and "unpatch" the game. It was a difficult decision we all had to make with 07 (which is why many of us couldn't wait for 08 to come out). You either had to go with a lie problem and good looking water OR have the lie problem fixed and have problems with the water. |

Yes, it is the patched game. I think I will have to just go without the courses of 08, I don't want to play with it unpatched. The 08 game has water that is so beautiful (I agree that 07 water wasn't too well done), but I would miss the career editor so much.
Is there any word on 10 coming to PC? If there was one game made for PC, it is golf. I played Links for several years, then switched to Tiger I believe in 04/05.
If only the career editor would work in 08, or the water would work in 07. Ugh, why do they make it so hard. Anyway, thanks for the tips! |
