Hi, I am a beginner and I am very intested in designing my home golf course which is Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club in Bathurst, NB, CAN. I have read all documentation I could find about course architect and watched all tutorials. I have TW08 and I have installed TW06 and CA06 and import libraries as explained in tutorial. I designed one hole to practice and everything was fine. Today, i started on my project and designed my first hole...I only used 2 textures library (pebble beach 2008 and riviera 2008)...I was getting some weird effect in TW08 with textures...like blue all over the fairway and then orange all over the fairway...now, it is all black... the hole is very simple and i do not have any elevation yet...what could be the problem ? thanks Daniel |

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried both...with and without and same result. Also, i have no trees yet planted on the hole. One thing I noticed and it may not have anything to do with the problem is that I tried to put a bridge on the hole...i was succesfull but did not like it...so I deleted it...but in the course property, it still shows the bridge library in the list of library ? |

Hi, again, thanks for taking the time to reply and help. The CL tool does not seem to work with 06 libraries...i can cloak other libraries but not the TW06 ones. As for specification, I do this on a portable IBM thinkpad, model R60, with ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 video card, Intel T2300 1.66 GHz CPU and with 1 GB of ram.
Regards, Daniel |

You can cloak 06 Libraries and Courses by opening up the CLTool and right clicking anywhere in the gray area and unchecking "Protect stock objects" for cloaking the 06 libraries. For the cloaking of courses check "Allow cloaking of courses" |

Couple things:
1. There's a difference between cloaking and getting rid of sticky libraries.
2. You can't cloak 06 stock libraries unless you right click and unselect "Protect stock objects" |

Hi, thanks...got it about CLtool. I will start my project from scratch and see if I can get the black textures to appear again and try to figure out what causes that... daniel |

Well, I tried a new course...selected pano and default rough as Pebble Beach 2008. I put a green, a fairway and a tee with the same library and compiled the course. When i load into TW08, select practice, i am on the tee but the ground texture is very dark...not all black as before but with black spots and some green spot. It is strange because yesterday, I was able to design one hole with no problem...the problem started when i added a second hole and it has been like this ever since...if I select a default course, no problem...it shows up well so I don't thnk it is a hardware problem. Something has screwed up something in course architect ? |

Could you possibly post a pic... we'll be able to help a lot more if we can see exactly what the problem is. |

Nope, just hit the " Prt Scrn / SysRq " button..(up above "Insert" on your keyboard..Then immediately go to your imaging program.. (paint... etc.)..open up new sheet and paste... :) you can then attach it to your post.... :) |

Hi, thanks. I now think it might be a hardware problem since it is not consistent. Now, the textures are not that bad see below...and I have not changed anything since my last view when it was all black...still stange that this does not happen with tw08 default courses ??? Daniel |

You can also go here for this free screencapture tool, it allows you to take multiple screenshots, and the automatically go to your desktop. http://howiesfunware.com/ When you get their just look on the left side of the page and clik on Misc. Software, then download the screencapture tool. |

Custom courses are much tougher to render for your system, compared with stock courses. So it is possible you can play TW stock courses, but not the custom courses. You tried to install and play a custom course on your system ? |

Hi, thanks for the help... i have downloaded a couple of courses (augusta and President's cup) and I have no problems playing them. I just started to design a hole from scratch again and so far, so good... Again, thanks everyone for your quick response. Daniel |

This might be a silly question, but are you talking about the dark texture? That is dirt. |
