hi... You can do that with: Library Creator06 You can download on link below:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=7&gameid=8
(Note: I believe some people are using older version of library creator, to avoid black structures.)

You need a 3D object creation application such as Maya, 3D Studio Max, or GMax to create a lightwave object. Once you have the objects created, you then use the Library Creator for TW to add them. Maya and 3DS MAx are very expensive programs. GMax is free |

Thank you. I've downloaded GMAX. it looks rather daunting, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it. I don't suppose I could use a picture of the object I want and load it into gmax?. This is all new to me so it's probably a silly question.

That would be too easy, lol. You have to recreate the object using the tools available in gmax. The main trick is creating textures to fit your object. So you may have to look into an image program like Photoshop also. Your images have to be powers of two, like 256X256 pixels or 256X512, whatever. The larger your image the better it shows up, but it will add lots of bytes to your library. So it's best to create your objects to fit the size of your texture images. So you make them square, or 2:1 or 4:1, whatever fits. This may sound complicated, but once you get into it it'll start to make sence. |
