Moved from Tutorials/FAQs forum to The Course Source forum |

Hello everyone. Way back in the day, I bought TW2006 and played it a great deal, even going so far as to create a couple of courses (though none good enough to upload here).
So, I've just re-installed everything today, and wanted to get back into the construction business.
But, even with reading the (in my opinion very sketchy and not real useful) PDF file on CourseArchitect, I'm pretty much at a loss as to starting.
For instance, I can place large water hazards (lakes, etc) just fine. But I've tried to put a stream into my eventual playing area using the Wizard, and I not only can't turn the river (so they're all going north-south?!?), but I also can't seem to get it to "stick" like the other water hazards are (by clicking them to "set" them).
Is there some magic trick to using streams?
The Tutorial area is...well, frankly...empty, which is very disappointing because I'd rather go look up my questions than have to bother you folks. |

Forget the wizard and hand draw your course or if replicating a real course, take a look at Homeboys excellent tutorial for using the Terrain Assist prog.
Theres also some superb tutorials on design techniques written by a number of reputable designers in the community, although perhaps the best to get started with can be found on this very site...

What Zeebee said. Contrary to what you might believe, it's actually quicker too if you don't use the wizard. |
