No real big deal here, but... I just played a practice round on the front 9 of Calico Creek and I noticed that on the holes, which all play distinctly down-hill, are shown by the indicator to play slightly uphill to the green from the tees and fairways. I can eyeball them just fine, I guess. My skills are far from precise, regardless, and the targeting seems unaffected.

My question is this: Is this something that occurs during the design process that can be avoided? I am a fledgling designer, and I am trying to learn from all angles, including analyzing the custom courses I have occasion to play. Is this perhaps caused by setting shot paths before changing land forms?

Also may I say this is not to knock the Calico Creek design. Its fun, challenging, aesthetically pleasing, makes you think, lots of nice risk-reward shot choices, and that pano work is very cool. I also appreciate the texture work.
