With the 2008 Alfred Dunhill Championship due to start tomorrow i decided to set my sites on tackling the Leopard Creek Country Club - another challenge to capture the African bushveld. Pity i won't be able to add some hippo, crocs, and giraffe to the course life, but i will add some african wild life sounds....
As of this weekend i'm off on a months holiday and heading up to the Kruger National Park for a week in the bush so the course will only be due for release later in the new year.
Top100GolfCourses Course Review...
"Leopard Creek Country Club – the wild thing – is a course that’s in-tune with nature but you might want to take a caddy. Why? Well they are good for your score and your health. A caddy will spot your ball and the wild animals that lurk on the course. Located on the southern edge of South Africa's Kruger National Park, Leopard Creek is a cocktail of golf and safari. Leopard Creek opened in 1996 as an exclusive club and it’s therefore tricky to get a game. But if you do manage to befriend a member, this Gary Player designed championship layout will remain lodged in your memory for all sorts of reasons.
John Bickerton claimed an unlikely third European Tour victory in a dramatic final round of the 2007 Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek. Ernie Els squandered a two-stroke lead, carding a triple bogey eight on the final hole after finding water twice, handing victory to the Englishman."

Hi Jimi, this course is rated by many as South Africa's best, but unfortunately only the rich and famous get to play there, so i'll make my own version and can play any time for free.
See that thatched roof clubhouse in the background... guess what i'll be asking you to do sometime next year :) |

Just a quick update, have just got back into the design mood again...
Some screenshots at a very early stage, have got a lot of video footage to go through to try and get this one as accurate as i can.
