when i compile my course, then go to play it,on the map i see some black areas.when i get closer to the black spots, the areas kind of shimmer.when i get real close in the architect,i can see the "patterns" change.ive optimized the areas completely,so im lost again.....i guess i was wondering if i should ignore the spots cuz wen i upload they will go away????thanx in advance...jonny |

Do not, I repeat Do NOT ignore them, cause they won't go away!!!
They will show up in the game as textures that you can see thru..
Somebody else might be able to tell you better then me, as to what to do..
In my case, when that happens, I have to drop another texture in that area.
Like from a different library, for example, if I'm using Sawgrass for my rough, then I will try to find a rough from another library and drop it in that area.
I think maybe one of the other designers could help you better then me...
Hope this helps a little.. |

This is one of the hardest problems to fix in the CA. If you look at my Whistling Straits course, on the 12th tee if you look past the green to the 13th hole, you can see some as well. You kind of have to play with the area to get the textures to reappear. Changing textures, as Axe mentioned sometimes helps. Sometimes changing elevations works, sometimes optimizing... etc. |

Ahh yes Bobby, you are right about the elevations, sometimes that works to, good looken out..
It kinda makes you sink in your chair when you first see them, but they can be fixed, don't give up..
I think we all get em everytime we design a course, just got to work thru it.. |

The black/missing/sparkling textures is caused by too high of a point count in total over the whole course on that particular texture. You either need to optimize areas more, or break up the point count by using more textures, etc. |
