I am aware that most of the custom designers hate galleries and I am also aware of the obvious reasons as to why. With me, regardless of their appearance it is my preference to use them where ever possible strictly for creating somewhat of a tournament atmosphere during game play. I know that they have to be provided for during the designing process in order for them to show up in the course design. Why not make such provisions and let the people who download the courses decide whether or not they want to make use of them in any custom course they choose to play?

I agree, especially courses that have been designed with tournament play in mind.

I think many of the courses that have galleries tend to have the galleries positioned too close to the Ts and greens which accentuates their horrendous appearance and is annoying when the ball lands amongst them, however when the galleries are set back a distance from the Ts and greens they do not look so bad and greatly enhance the tournament experience.

Placing galleries on the course at the design stage is probably the easient task in the CA and takes no time at all but at least they are included and players can choose to have the galleries activated or not by use of an appropriate cls file.
