In case youre interested, I put together a new tutorial showing how I added the teeing area for the hole in my green complex design tutorial.
Let me know if there are other topics people would find helpful. Thanks. |

PDF I cant do, but heres a jpg that should work. Remove all buffer shapes after youre done and optimize base texture at 3rd click and your water should look nice and flat. Additional flattening and smoothing can make the bank slope even more gently into the water, without any noticeable lip. |

Thanks Jimi, just to much involved for me, IE: 250cliks..
I would like to be able to drop a water shape anywhere on a rolling hills or mountainous plot.
I will stick with the system I use for now.
Drop a shape, then flatten, the decrease by a few feet, drop my water shape, then smooth the shore line, then use 2 shape and drop it, then optimize my outer shape (shoreline) on the 3rd notch, a couple of times and INclude children.
By including children, you do not harm the shore line..
Sorry, I cant make a tutorial with photos, but Im sure their are better ways to do this..
And even though I appreciate your system, I am very much interested in Homeboys tutorial..
Jimi, I really appreciate you maken this tutorial and Im sure I will use it in certain circumstances, because sometimes I really do like to have that nice sharp lip..
Thanks again m8..
Peace |

Well, you can just give it its 250 clicks and go do something else in the meantime, lol. Thats what I do. The great advantage with smoothing at minimum setting is that your elevation work remains more or less intact. It allows you also to bring down the point counts in the areas that you are working through optimizing. I have been able to bring it down in areas from over 13,000 points to less than 1,000 without losing any essential elevation work. |
