I am sure this topic has come up before but I just cant seem to locate it. I know that a lot of members hate the galleries that come with the stock courses. I am one of them however I still prefer to use them especially on courses that display grandstands. On some custom courses I have been able to insert galleries by using the stock ones. On the majority of the custom designs however I am unable to do this. I have to assume that gallery provisions must be made during the design proceedure in order for them to appear in the course. I think I also read somewhere that the earlier galleries such as used in TW05 canot be used in any design after 2005. Too bad, because they actually looked much better than the newer ones. |

It is up to the designer weather or not they place them in the CA. They can be hard to deal with since they kind of show up random, sometimes you have to play around with the numbers and move them around a bit. It is not as easy as one would think placing them on a course. Sometimes 1 person shows up or like 3 and in other areas their are 100s and they drift in to bunkers and crazy places. If you are not careful they can also stand in swing paths or right off of a tee box. I would say besides myself and the PGAX guys most designers dont use them. They can cause problems with in the game itself. If you are not careful removing them from a course, they can actually destroy the TCA file. The PGAX guys usually included them however for some strange reason they dont include a CLS. |

There are basically three requiremnts for galleries to show up in a game (TW08)
1. The Architect must have inserted them during the design process in the course architect. 2. The in game setting of tournament atmosphere must be on 3. You must have a cls (course life system) file with gallery objects ed in. Some clss have been modified by designers to include or exclude various blocks in order to activate/deactivate various course life objects these being such things as animals, birds, leaves, debris, water lilies, tees, divots, bugs, insects and of course galleries and the blimp. |

Well, my gallery problems seem to be unsolved. A few weeks back I was able to use some stock tbf files in some custom courses in order to have galleries. This worked for a short period of time with courses like Pgax Kapalua and the first version of the S. African Gary Player course. The next time playing these courses, the galleries had suddenly disappeared. I uninstalled and reinstalled these courses again and have had no luck in bringing galleries into the course. I experimented with several other custom courses that were supposed to be gallery friendly, and had no luck with these either. I launched my stock 08 courses and to my suprise the galleries had disappeared from them as well. Thinking this might be a corrupt file issue, I uninstalled all courses including the 08 stock ones. I then only reinstalled the 08 stock courses making sure that all the tbf files were in their appropriate cls folders. In the ingame settings under Advanced, I have it set to PGA Tour. Under Options, Course Life System is set to High. 3D Gallery Distance is set at Auto. There are still no galleries visible. What is visible are the camera men and anouncers in the towers but no galleries. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? |

auto may not work depending on your video card on low setting, they may appear but block shots medium setting seems to work fine
you also need the default C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\Generic\cls folder except as modified with the inclusion of a modified blimp
ie the CDT Tour blimp i uploaded only has the blimp.dds file changed everything else is the same

Thanks for the reply JB, I have located the problem. I had made mention some time ago, that I always hated the look of the EA Sports Blimp. Stef was kind enough to send me her modified tbf cls file that included her design og the Met Life Blimp. When I first swapped her file with the original in the Generic course folder, I was able to introduce galleries into some customs using the stock tbf files. Then suddenly one day I was no longer able to do so. I then reinstalled the 08 stock courses into the game which all had been uninstalled prior to the problem. After installing the stocks I noticed that there were no galleries in any of them visible. I then removed Stefs modified version and replaced it with the original tbf and now everything seems to be back to normal. Stef informed me that her modified version works fine for her and that she is currently using it. Her version might have become corrupt during tansfer. Doubtfull however, since it did work for a short period of time in my game. |
