As a newbie to course design, I am completely lost as to how to create custom textures (I found the dxtex tool, but couldnt figure it out), plants, and objects. Can anyone help me?

To create textures, you use an image editing application like photoshop or paint.net, etc. The format needs to be TGA and they need to be in multiples of 2 for dimensions. Then once you have the images, you use the Library Creator to create the library. Trees and plants cannot be done, the proper applications to do those are not available to use anymore. Structures and other objects of the like need to be created in an image application for the images portion and then the physical portion needs to be done with a 3D application such as 3ds Max or GMax. Then they are also added with the library. Since you are just starting out, I would suggest using one of the stock libraries for textures. You will also need to use the stock libraries for the plants and trees. There are many excellent panos created and you can download them here from coursedownloads as well as many many structure and object libraries. I would suggest looking to the tutorials by smiling goats or jimbo64 as a good place to start.
