| Aside from not having a CA for 07 and having to use conversion libs as well as trying to adapt Panos for 07 because of the game engine change the main issue for me was always the water textures or should I say the lack of. In all the custom courses that were created for 07, I saw very few where the water actually looked like real water. It was either swimming pool blue and non transparent, dark blue or green with a below the surface geometric type pattern or neon like if you had the water set to high or very high within the game. It got to the point to where I finally uninstalled 07 and went back to playing 05 and 06. All the other textures looked great in 07 and other than a few pano seems, they were wonderful designs. I would have never bought the 08 game had not a friend called and said:Remember all those 07 customs we liked but hated the way the water looked? When installed in 08, the water in these 07 customs looks great! Sure enough, there were only a few 07 customs where there was no change to the water quality when installed in 08. All the 06 and 07 Stock Courses play as well and look at least as good as they do in the platform they were intended for. I think overall that the 08 game is a better looking game than the 07. Only thing I can figure is that either most of you did not have these water issues in 07 or it just wasnt that big of a deal. Not perfect or as good as the 08 Stock Course water, at least it looks like water and is a 100% improvement over anything custom that I ever saw in 07. |

| I think you might have missed the 20 page thread of bad looking water in 07 over at TWC last year. That one was discussed to death - LOL. |

| Well I know there was a lot of talk about it over at TWC. I dont frequent the site much anymore, especially after the site overhaul, but thats another topic. Maybe you can condense it for me. How come a lot of the 07 custom courses when played in 08 miraculously had descent looking water? Was it solely due to the introduction of the Shader Level in 08, or are there other reasons for the revival of these 07 customs? |

| My guess is there was a shader problem in the 07 game relating to the CA and it was resolved in the 08 game. |
