I am working on my first course, a short Executive course. Can someone explain how the shot paths work and how to set them for par 3 holes? I am having a blast working on this but this part is bothering me.
My holes are set with front and back tees and 4 pin placements. The hole definition tool is making me set 3 paths from each tee ( i think) If you can reach a green in one shot, why so many shot paths?
I appreciated any help you can give me.
Thanks to gunpower61 for the previous help! |

all shot paths follow the same path.... I dont believe it is possible to set different shot paths for each tee...
So when you set your shot path to the green, all the tees follow that 1 point..
The number of points you set for your shot path is not determined by the par of that hole..
You could have six shot points for a par 4, Its whatever you need to make the entire hole show up in the overhead map...
At least that is my limited understanding of it.
Hope this helps... |

Thanks for that. I will see if that works. Am I understanding this correctly, that the shot paths are from the tee to somewhere out in the fairway, then extending on down the fairway for the second shot to the green and so on until you get to the green? So that a par 4 would have 4 shot paths?
Thanks again! |

For a par 3, uncheck the Gold box (you cant play from there online anyway), and then click on your tee boxes (black, blue, white, red) ... next click on the middle of the green. Add at least two pins. Now you have defined your hole. If you want a long par 3, stop the shot path before the green (before the yardage is 240+).
For par 4s and 5s, you should add more shot paths so that all of the fairway is visible in the overhead (for doglegs). For a long par 4, stop the shot path before the green (before the yardage is 480+). |
