...Make an elevated tee box and elevated green? Ive been having a lot of fun building my first ever course, but I have a lot of problems with the flatten and smoothing tools. I can never seem to make a hill and then flatten out the top to make a green or tee box. Is the best way to start a hole to flatten the whole thing, and then raise the elevaion as you go? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive already downloaded the manual from EASports, but it doesnt help much with this issue. Thanks in advance!

The two shape method works best. Watch the video at SmilingGoats Tutorials (link at lower left of this page).

Jeff has a great tutorial at smilioats.com ... heres what I do for tee boxes:

1. I select the tee box shape and use as shape, increase about 25 feet and drop. This is my buffer shape all work will be done inside it.

2. I select the tee box shape again, use as shape and increase about 12 feet and depending on the surrounding elevations, either flatten at average height or flatten at maximum height. I then delete that shape.

3. Right-click on the buffer shape and use as shape smooth at lowest setting about 10 times or so. This will leave your tee box flat and have a gradual elevation change with the surrounding terrain. delete that shape.

4. Now for the two-shape method to raise the tee box: Right click on your tee box shape and use as shape and increase about 5 feet. Duplicate that shape and increase by about 12 feet. Move the outside shape so that it evenly surrounds the inside shape. select both shapes and use the hill tool and raise a few feet. delete those shapes. Note: for higher tee boxes, I increase the size of the outside shape accordingly so that the incline of the tee box is not too steep.

5. Right-click on the buffer shape again and use as shape smooth again at lowest setting about 3 times or so. delete that shape.

6. Now optimize the buffer shape with children at the second notch over. delete the buffer shape. You should now have an elevated, flat tee box.
