Hi All,
I have Tiger Woods 03, and am a complete newbie to CA. I have already read the EA CA manual and a lot of the postings on this site and still cant find the answers I need, so I apologize if theyve been addressed before. Being new to course design I decided to use the NCW, I had great fun laying out the holes etc. but when it came time to compile, it gave me the following warnings:
No putting green defined No chipping range defined No driving range defined
I have no idea what any of this means since I thought the NCW did everything for you, and I didnt see any references to those error messages in the manual or in the postings here.
Thanks, Mahlon |

Also, you can ignore those warnings, as you DO NOT have to have those areas defined.

Hi Guys,
I really appreciate all the help, but I still have a few questions:
Gunpowder- I tried as you suggested but when I try to define those areas they are all grayed out, how do I edit them once Im done using the wizard.
Axe- Its great to know that I can ignore those warnings, but if thats the case, then what is the final step in getting my course ready to use in the game after Ive compiled it? I keep going into the course selection screen and I dont see it, so I must be missing 1 or more critical steps.
Thanks, Mahlon |

Hi mahlon....after you compiled course you will have to install course in TW game with CLsetup or course utilities, same way you install other custom courses. |

Hi All,
I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me to understand the steps involved in getting a course prepped for gameplay, Im able to play my course now, and while its nothing special, it was a fun exercize to learn the basics of the CA tool. I was also able to download a few of the real championship courses and am having a blast playing them. I wish there were a few more championship courses availble for 03, such as Oakmont, Winged Foot, Shinnicock, Bethpage Black, Carnoustie, Etc. However, I understand that at this point in the series, very few people are probably designing for 03 anymore. I will have to upgrade to one of the more recent years soon :)
Is there any concensus as to which is the best game in the series?
Thanks, Mahlon |

Consensus? That would be like asking everyone to have the same political views - lol.
Ive noticed a huge increase in the number of people using 07, so one might assume that 07 is the most widely liked version. |

Plus TW03 is widely viewed, (or was it 02? Crap now Im not sure), as the worst version EA ever put out. (I threw mine into Lake Michigan about 2 months after purchase and the fish must have thrown it back. I found it on a pier one day here). The more I think about it maybe it was 02 that started the whole EA stinks fiasco. Seriously though, if you can find 07 for $19.99 in some discount bin, get that one if you have the computer run it. Personally I like 06 by far the best but 07 is decent plus youll get to play all the new courses. |

I think the different features they throw in each year might make a person prefer ones years game to the next. But as far as the graphics and lighting go, I prefer 07. |

It was 2002, it was that bad that it wasnt even released in Europe, come to think of it 2000 was a similar wash out, as for the best version it surely has to be the current one (07), and I would anticipate 08 to be an improvement on this but only time will tell. |
