Hi, Im juste designing my first course, using the metric system BTW. Ingame, the distances are much smaller than with the architect. Is this a known issue ?
Thanks. |

I think that might be because the architect does not use the metric system, it uses the yardage system. Meters are quite a bit longer then yards.1 meter = 1.094 yards 1 yard = 0.9144 meters. If that helps you at all, then its good, but I dont know how to change to the metric system on the Ca 2006 or earlier.
If thats not the problem then its probably the course architest or game messing up on itself. |

Well, I configured the CA to use the metric system. Maybe it displays meters, but in fact its yards... Ill try and check if its the case. |

In the game, the distance is as the crow flies to the hole, so the distance would likely be shorter than the shot paths that you set in the Course Architect ... especially on doglegs. |

I knew that.
I detected the issue with a par 3, green about 15m below the hole. Should be 172m from the tournament tees, its 128m ingame (the green isnt that long). |

have u tried changed the settings to yardages to see if u have the same prblm? I.e. if you set the yardage for say, 150 in the ca, does the game also show a shorter yardage? Just uncheck metric in the CA edit box and it should give u the yardages by default. |

I tried that... same thing. The measuring tool gives me the correct distances, in meters and yards, no problem. In game, everything is smaller. Its a shame, I already designed 6 holes (not the elevation yet) from a real course, using aerial pictures, and transparent windows... |

Ok, I figured it out ! :-D
I flattened the whole hole, and the distances ingame are accurate.
The green was way below the tee, so I guess that the distance displayed ingame would take into account the fact that I needed less club for this hole.
Im reliefed, and I can go on with my design. |

Distances in game are relative based off of your shot path you set in the CA and then the pin position. |

Yup, but in case of a par 3, one may expect to have the right distance printed, plus or minus half the greens length. No more, no less ) |
