No hurry at all....If you can do them a much thanks is in order.....I guess I need to learn how to do Panos now.... Since this course is very old, I did waste some space in the layout, you learn as you go.....from looking at it a few months ago, a few of the greens need to be re-shaped, and the course needs to be replanted. There is not much on it. It is not like this is some super special awesome course, it was done a long time ago, and I often thought about starting it over from zero. At the same time, Royal Troon, is for the person who likes that type of golf...If you played it or know it, the course holds up pretty nice. The one feature that is missing is the custom seagulls on specific holes on the course, this was done on the old CLS, and is a feature that it not really possible in 07 (As far as I know) The bunker method, I dont remember what was done, so it is going to be a task, looking in to that. For sure I want them different from the other 2 Open courses I did... |

Ill see what I can come up with. Im still earning as far as 3D design is concerned, so its good practice. I dont do real courses myself because I dont play real golf but I have seen the Royal Troon. Its a beautiful course. If you can do it justice itll look really nice. So good luck. |

Jimi,
Over the years I have looked at the St. Andrews bunker method, I can do something that is pretty close, even though they use a different program. The problem is they have 5 to 8 shapes per bunker, now this adds problems to the course when you have 150 bunkers or whatever this course has. 8 shapes * 150 = 1200 Shapes = Crash City
Once I start looking at this course, I will re-do some of the bunkers on it. It was made early in my career, and my skill level is so different than what it was. I can tweak a few things here and their. The challenge is really bringing the course up to date. Right now as is, the 06 Version I have is Acceptable. (The Public doesnt have that one) I dont know if this course can be ever be made in to a super star so to speak, but with a little work, some structures it can be enjoyable for some.... |

I found this picture also. This is a little house that in on 15. In the distance you can see the house on 16, but I have never been able to find a really good pic of it. |
