So I managed to make another golf course. This time around it's a fictional course set on a mountainside.

It's almost entirely up hill, with over 700 feet of vertical rise between the first tee and 18th green.

I had to make a custom extra large panorama because the standard type wasn't tall enough to cover that much rise.

Also, I ran into some issues with shadows on the course. I think the amount of elevation change was affecting the game engines ability to calculate shadows. At times, I was elevating the plot above where the game could generate shadows. I did my best, but you will see weird shadow anomalies from time to time (like trees not casting shadows or a shadow that just ends abruptly)

Having said all that, I think the course is fun to play, there are some pretty amazing views to be had (11 and 18 are great for sight seeing) and one fun CLS addition on the 5th hole.

I've made a few playthrough videos of the front and back nine.

I'll link them here.

First off, the front nine at Alpine Ascent Golf Club:

Hi Quietly,
I am glad that to see that you are back on the designing track : this fictional course is gorgeous !
The panorama is simply awesome and some holes are spectacular (5th hole - my favorite on the front 9 - and the 6th, both with that beautiful running waterfall - even without the sound - which reminded me of the one you created on your Sylven Glen par-3 course).
As for the 7th hole, this is the 1st time that I see a golfer hurt... his foot after putting (LOL !).
The back 9 has some great holes too, starting with the 11th and its postcard mountain view, but the last three are not only very scenic, they are also very challenging.

Last, but not least, I have a couple of questions for you :
1. Which software did you use to record your game ?
2. I know there is a utility to get "rid" of the icon for the distance and wind, so that you only see the short name of the club (with the distance) and the strength and direction of the wind (as seen on your video), but I can't find it on the site. Where should I look ?

So, once again, thank you for making another magnificent fictional course which, hopefully, we will soon be able to play !

Cheers.

Thanks for the kind words Holein1 and Gunpower61.

To answer your questions Holein1:

1. The video was recorded using built in software in Windows 11. Just hit the Windows Key, Alt, and R, and it starts recording. Hit those same 3 keys again to stop recording. The recorded video is then saved to your Videos folder in your My Documents section. You can use it to record any in-game video you want. A similar command can be used to capture a screenshot, although I haven't used that yet.

2. The menus seen in the video are a modified version of the CBS TV graphics package that I released a few years back. The invisible background for the wind and club selection were something I just did recently and hasn't been released. The original version of those CBS menus included a swing meter, as I was a 3 clicker, but I have to use true swing on the new computer because the 3 click meter glitches with the new computer. As a result, the wind/club selection gauges looked out of place with no swing meter next to them, so I just got rid of their backgrounds all together.
