Looks interesting. A lot of dramatic topography. That 2-3 stretch would be fun in real life.
Isn't that castle tower a little too high on #3? the pics I've seen show it to be above grade by about half it's width (like if its 20 feet wide than its 10 feet above grade) on your course it looks like its taller then it is wide.
also, did you get someone to make it or did you end up using a pre-existing tower?
also also is the water texture down below an ocean or pond texture? curious cuz I made a bunch of test pond texs for punaluu to create tropical water. never used them but they looked nice on the low shader level. |

Good point on the tower. It was from one of jimi's libraries that you recommended. I threw it in at the beginning and haven't touched it since. I'll drop it down tomorrow.
I'm using an 06 ocean texture. I forget the course off hand but it matched the Pano best.
The Pano is awesome btw. Not sure who from cgx made it but it fits nearly perfect. |

Yah the pano does look nice. It fits the overall vibe, although the real course doesn't have houses or a town behind the 2nd/3rd.
Did you want a pond texture that matches the pano even better or are you fine with the ocean you've got? Were you going to put the cls waves on it? (I think you need ocean for the waves, they don't work on ponds, I think) |

The problem is that it's the base texture. Is that a problem if it's a pond? |

I believe it reverses the forward/backward stance option.
But you can just do what I did on Punaluu. Make the pond surround the whole 'island' of land and have it be the outmost shape. Then drop the base texture below view by 50 or 100 feet so the pond goes to the edge of view (hiding the base texture) |

I tried it with a stock pond. I think there's too much coastline to make it work. The game didn't want to load. |

Yah, I forgot about that. I remember having to make a lot of reductions to do what I did on my course.
Have you noticed the ocean texture changing colour based on time of day? I was constantly frustrated by that because I had a pond and ocean colour matched but halfway through the round, the ocean had darkened or lightened noticeably.
Has that happened in relation to your pano, or do you only see the ocean at the start of the round? |

The ocean does change a bit but it's typically darker than the Pano, so the color doesn't change noticeably. (At least to me)
The texture is from Greek Isles. It's the deep blue one. I kind of like it, especially for the Irish coast. |
