The CA has started crashing on me again. This time it is something I have not come against before. Having drawn a shape to do elevation work, when I click on the shape, I get an error message "unnamed file not found".
When I click "OK", the following message which includes report this to EAS yes/no has another box headed "shape properties". I am able to open the last saved file but I have lost the work up to and including the time of the crash. I am having to save my work after every event now which is a pain.
Any clues how to overcome this error? |

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.

Thanks for the link Pat. I have trawled through and I have not yet found a solution. First I tried to open CL Tool, but it wouldn't stating that either CA or TW program was running. Closed XP Mode; opened it up again with nothing running. I get the same message! See attached. |

That is weird, maybe TW or CA is still running in task manager ? Maybe you can try to restart your PC ? |

Next I tried to delete the swap files which I did except for one file was was being used?!
I tried to search for the file on this site going by the GUID but nothing was found.
The GUID reference is: {62CF3183-8AC2-11d2-A7A3-006097B90AF5}
Also. I trawled through the libs in CA and came across K Club which had a pond texture which was transparent. See pic below. I am sure this has got something to do with the problem.

I also did a search for the GUID reference: {62CF3183-8AC2-11d2-A7A3-006097B90AF5} But nothing comes up, is it possibble it is a CGX library that is not available on Coursedownloads ? Yes it looks something wrong with the K Club library in CA. Maybe you can try to uninstall the K club library in TW06, and reinstall it in TW06.

I managed to delete K Club lib using Course Utilities, but I still cannot delete that swap file. When I re-install K Club I still get the rogue pond icon and CA still crashes when I open texture properties. I am totally at a loss to do next. I even uninstalled CA & re-installed to no avail.
Any idea how to delete that swap file?

If it hasn't been to long, a system restore might help, it has for me before.. |

Lawrence I do not think it is that pond icon as it is the same in my version of CA and I am having no problems |

In the past I have deleted libs from my registry without any problems and I can try to talk you through it if you wish. You have to be very careful when doing anything in the registry but as long as you back up the registry prior to doing anything it will be OK. Included is a pic of my registry showing the libs. |

Jim I recommended Tee to check his registry for the lib he can't find here... Once found he can double clik on it and it will tell him the name of the lib... I agree, I wouldn't be deleting anything, just look for it..:) |

Larry hopefully that rogue lib is probably it, the CA does not seem to like any lib problems |

Thanks guys for your help. Finally got it fixed. Larry, when you suggested do a system restore, I did that in W7 mode. When that didn't work, I went back to an earlier restore point. Again that didn't work. So I googled doing a reg edit help as Jimbo's screen print was not the same as mine when I go into reg edit. It suddenly struck me that Jim was using XP whereas I use the CA in XP mode (Windows Virtual PC). So I opened XP mode and did a system restore from there. When I opened CA afterwards, hey presto everything is fine and I was able to delete that rogue swap file and wait for it............ no more crashes.
Again thanks for all of the ideas, it has really been appreciated. When you are my neck of the woods, the beer will be on me!!
Happy New year to you all. |

Awesome news! I hate it when stuff like that happens. Why don''t you do something I never did and copy the procedure down. I always wished I had done that as by the next time it happens you or I may forget how to do it again. :) Thanks
Happy New Year! |
