I went to play tw 08 today and noticed my created golfer was gone. I almost freaked out. all that work and I have to start over. I checked the files and my golfer is still listed under players, but not in the game. Has anyone had this happened and is it fixable?

where are they located?
here's the basics
if the files are in your MyDocs like below
try recreating the golfer as stated at very bottom

single player folder/file save:

2 files in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Ability
(Win7 - C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Ability)

PLAYERNAME.cal
PLAYERNAME.hal

1 folder and 1 file in: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Career\Players
(Win7 - C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Career\Players)

PLAYERNAME folder
PLAYERNAME.plr

copy and save them elsewhere on your PC or flash drive etc

and paste them back to the original locations if needed

- if adding a player back

create the identical name NEW player FIRST

THEN paste the files/folders back, overwriting the new ones

.... and remember the confidence folder fix after
