I hope this is the correct place for this discussion. I have an older desktop which has XP on it with the following configuration: Intel Core 2 6400 @2.13GHz, 3 GB Ram with an Nvidia GeForce 7300LE. It plays the game beautifully!!!!! I had a tumor taken out of my head and am now disabled (you can only imagine the length of time that it took to write this) and am on a budget. I want to continue playing this game, but must do it on a laptop. I would like to upgrade to win7 or 8 but need advice on what configuration to get and of course on a budget. I was looking at an AMD E-300 1.3GHz 4GB system, but not sure how it compares? Does the community have any ideas for me? Any help would be appreciated!

? Have you thought may be of playing on a Gaming Console, there was a version of this game only 5 courses though and theres lots more Golf game of course. The PC version only has the default swing {which is virtually 2 click and free hand which is hard} I`am sure there are lots more options of control on the console version. JMIER owner of the CGX a member here knows about this game and could may be help on this.

Small video of the default 2 click on PC version , using the Mouse. Win7 runs the game just fine lots here use it.
Just tested TW 2008 on 2 click method as well ,you can ? may be try this, because you can operate the 2 click swing with the Space Bar on the key board |

Hiya Kelly
About the graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6310 On win8 there was a problem with the AMD Radeon graphics cards to play TW08. Not sure it is fixed already, but on win8 it was not possible to play Tw08 with the AMD Radeon cards. I am pretty sure there was no problem with the cards on Win7.
Summary:
Win7: TW08 works very good on Win7, also the TWCaddie08 installer works perfect on Win7, no problems here. Win8: TW08 and TWCaddie08 also works on Win8, but you will have to run TW08 in compatibilty mode. The water reflection is not working very well for me on Win8.
Just my 2 cents, but when you want a system with the best results for TW08, then Win7 is the best option. There are two versions of win7: win7 32bit....and Win7 64bit. I prefer the Win7 64bit version. |

Below is a gaming test for your graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6310:
http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu/AMD+Radeon+HD+6310/games
It says it can play TW08 on the recommended settings, no problem. |
