Hi,
I used to be able to play all custome courses in career mode before I started messing with the 3 click slider (;the one for my old friend). I must have messed up a few files somehow and had to reinstall the game. Does anyone have any idea how to make this work, I must have done something but cant remember what or how?
I read the old topic bout custom courses... The one where it says you need TW06 and 07 to be able to play custom courses in career mode on TW08. I dont have those games (;never did) and was still able to play them, even courses I added in a later stage worked.
When I started a new career choosing East Lake as my homecourse the game started me on American Links which is a custom course. The first couple of game months I played this course like you would any new career but now progerssing to the different levels I dont get to play any other custom course only the stock ones.
Regards, HJ |

Hiya Hertogjan.....
I remember i had a custom course once in Career mode, I don t know how it happened. Yes i know there is a sort of workaround to play custom courses, when you own TW06 and TW07. But i have no idea how to do it when you dont have TW06 and Tw07 games installed.
Below is a lik with some help, but i think you have to install TW06 and TW07 aswell:

hi Gun,
I read that post as well but I can assure you I didn't do any of it nor do I have TW06 and 07,
The only thing different about this install and the other one is/was the fact I already played through the different levels of career mode and was in the Pro tour when I joined the My league Tiger Woods Online PC comunity and had to download custom courses to be able to play the guy's through Hamachi.
I made a screen of a new career I just started to test and it starts with American Links again so there has to be a way to do it otherwise that course shouldn't be available.... But like you I have no idea how to get the others to work either.
it must have bein a fluke, one I would very much like to have repeated :@. |

Hiya Hertogjan....
Found out a few things so far. I can choose any custom homecourse i want in PGA Tour. But you will need the Cloaking Tool08 ( or Nocourseclicking tool ). I will come back later and explain what i found, just testing a few things. |

With a new player / low on Attributes = no power, for a better challenge, create a new player ,chose Pro on the new player set up, then just go straight into the Fedex Cup Tournies, this saves having to play all those boring games against hack players for very little money.
If you require a ready made player with 100% Attributes and lots of money, down load Severiano Balesteros from the utilities section, i made that. Player model or Ian Baker Finch. |

This is what i found, but you will have to create a new player:
First open CLTool08 or the No Course Clicking tool. Now Cloak all courses, and uncloak only the course that you want to play in PGA Tour. So now you will have only 1 course uncloacked. Now start TW08...and click : Change profile....and Create new player (It only works with Amateur player, it will not work with a pro player) Now with your new player go to: Game modes....and choose: PGA tour You will see the box with the name of your homecourse will be empty, no problem just continue to the calendar. Now in the calendar you will see your homecourse is the course that you uncloacked in CLTOOL08. The month may ( Stableford ) will be a stock course, so you will have to uncloack that course aswell in CLTool08.
Note: The problem is when you want to play another custom course, you will have to do the whole procedure again and you will have to create a new player. So for each custom course you will have to Uncloak the course, and after that create a new player. |

Ooh my... Thats a lot of doing to be able to play a single custom course, but Thx for looking that up for me. Its such a shame the game crashed on me and I had to reinstall it, it worked fine with all custom courses in career mode (/cry.../Bosh). I'm hoping I'll get that fluke again after I reinstalled the game and start over without any mods installed. (keep you posted if it worked).

You're maybe right bout the Attributes and thx for the headsup about those characters but I won't use them, its fun starting over now and again. I mean starting with a Driver 12 with a max distance of 229m, Iron's not being able to get the distance by air only with bounces, needing to layup due to that fact, a chipping and putting grid of 2m/3m in front of you no more.
LMAO, I'd challenge anyone to start a new career, you really have to think about what shot to take and what no cause of the handicap. No more blasting a ball 331m landing them way past any bunker or dogleg.
I had a player X (really the nick I gave that character) and played all levels of career mode without adding attributes except for putting and short game which I filled up to the 1000 marker (for chipping and putting grid, 1000pnts = about 10m if I recall), changed the club heads, shafts, putter and balls and played a decent game too.
Regards,
HJ

That’s just it, I don't want to start off with 75% attributes. I don't touch the Power nor the Long Game attributes, just the short game and putting which I set to 60% for the grids.
The difference between the two game styles is basically High and over vs low and bouncing.
Anyhow, we all play the game the way we like and that's what's great about it, I switched from 3click adv. to true swing adv. and enjoy the switch (although putting is still messy :@).
As for the game invite, I'll look you up on GameRanger sometime but have to say I rarely logon to it so it could be a while.
Greets,
HJ |

It is not a fluke, the game will always default to one particular course if the listed course file is missing. Best thing is to create and play custom seasons. You can pick and choose any courses you wish, stock or user-created. The whole process takes minutes to set up, other than the time it takes to create your custom PGA schedule which, once created, can be used over and over again. Just save it as a permanent schedule template and add /remove any courses you like before you start a new season. |
