| need help here guys --- after playing tw 08 since the year dot -- all of a sudden i kload the game and all goes fine UNTIL i get to hit the next button after setting the course description ,, and screen just stops ,,, i have to do cntrl alt delete to get to task manager to quit the programe -- task manager says tw08 not responding -- any ideas how to fix this ???? |

Hiya Graham, did you try to restart your PC ?
You probably already did it, but did you do the confidence folder fix ( long loading holes fix ) ? |

I have been playing 08 since day 1, now I'm getting this exact same thing. Anyone know how to fix?

Hi not sure what the problem is, are you sure you did the confidence folder fix ?
When you played some courses you will see the loading times between holes are increasing, the game will become slower and slower.
Do next steps to solve the problem:
1) On desktop you will see the folder My Documents. Open this folder.
( when you are using Vista or Win7: on desktop look for folder: User (or username).....inside you will find My documents )
2) Inside look for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008. Open this folder and then open the folder Career
3) Inside Career open the folder Players. Inside this folder, look for your playersname folder and open it.
4) Open the folder Confidence.
5) Inside you will find these files: Hole Type.tcn and Shot Type.tcn. delete both files.
6) Important step here! Restart the TW08 game and play 1 hole on any course, then close TW08 game.
7) Go back to same Confidence folder and you will see both files are regenerated: but now they are very small in size. Now right click the Hole Type.tcn file and choose Properties. Check the box next to Read Only and click OK. Now do the same thing for the Shot Type.tcn file. |

Tranzmembrified had similar problems to this,he evetually got it down to AVG free ,he's on win 7 pro.
I to have started getting game lock ups when on gameranger, i have AVG Pro/ on win XP. |

| I don't play gameranger any more. But I do use AVG...the version is 2013 build 3462. I have seen that some folks are having problems when they UPGRADE to 2014...also have you folks that are having problems tryed putting the problem program in the Exceptions area of AVG...just a thought...good luck |
