| I have a Pavilion p7 1490 computer and it is new. I was able to install TW O8 from Amazon.com. But when I started it up to play, the game would not recognize the graphics card I have which is a modern day AMD Radeon 6700 series. So I have sent away for an old ATI Radeon 3650 pcie card for $60. It seems TW 08 only recognizes old graphics cards back years ago and not todays cards? My question is, will this ATI Radeon 3650 graphics card work? Thanks, I await your reply. |

The Radeon 3650 should work, some people are using that card.
Maybe good idea to go for the Radeon 3650 with 512 mb memory or more.

Just a note: Sometimes the newer graphics card need the older driver. So it is possible you have to roll back to an older driver with the newer cards. |

Just a note. I did go with the 3650 but it was so close to my sound card that it burned out shortly there after. So I went with the HD 5570 ATI 1gig.. It required a 400 watt PS and mine is only 375 but it works fine..
I would get the best one that your P/S can power, theres so many out there. I think the main thing to be sure is, that your PS is big enough to supply the required power to it..
I think most would say, if you have a low wattage power supply, go for at least a 500 watt if money permits.. I dont believe your statement that this game only handles older cards is accurate..

| I am pretty sure that's the graphics card I have. It works pretty well. Will check when I get back to my computer. |

| well, this is the whole problem. If you go to Amazon.com and look up TW 08 for sale it gives you the graphics cards that will work for the game. The problem is that 80% of these cards are not for sale anymore. So what new graphics cards will work? None for sale today will. |

I have the ati 5570HD 1 gig, it is not on the list that you can find, under Tigerwoods 08 ReadMe file but it works gr8!
I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of cards that work here, that are not on the list.. Wait for others to weigh in on this.. |

| I played Woods on a nVidia Geforce GTX 660 2gb card and it worked fine.I'm not sure about ATI newer cards but like Gunpowder said the drivers can be the reason your AMD Radeon 6700 not recognized by the game.You have Win8? because AMD Radeon seems to give problems with Win8 and Woods.I'm pretty sure the Radeon 3650 will work with Woods.My best suggestion is to d/l several drivers(older and newer) for same card and see which 1 works the best. |
