I have a newer PC with Windows 7 Home 64bit. I've had an EA / Origin account for quite a long time and know that it's active. I downloaded TW08 for $10 through my wife's Amazon account (she has prime, so it's our default Amazon login)..... I downloaded and installed.
However, when I go into the TW08 folder and run the Application TW08 file, it prompts me to 'login to EA' using the e-mail that I used to purchase the game.... I've tried my Origin/EA id and it rejects it... I then tried setting up a 2nd EA/Origin account with my wife's e-mail. That didn't work either.
Anyone have any suggestions? Am I not clicking on the right file to play the game...? I've checked nearly all of the files/folders in both the Tiger Woods 08 primary folder that it installed to my C: drive, as well as the EAOnline folder that it also created.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

| EA withdrew their online servers for TW2008 quite a while ago. It is no longer possible to play online via EA. I suggest that you look at the Home page on this site for places to play TW2008 online. |

thanks for the reply
I realize that EA's servers are shut down, but I'm not interested in playing online. I simply want to play single player, but can't even get the game to run without the 'Login TO EA' popup... either I'm not selecting the correct application/executable program file to play single player, or I have to figure out a way to at least authenticate/verify my legal purchase of the game by connecting with their server .... if that's the case, then I guess if anyone bought TW 2008 after their server was shut down, then they can't play the game?
am I missing something? |

application path for default win7 install (dvd install, not download) is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\bin
exe name is: TW2008.exe (or plain: TW2008 if you have file extensions hidden)
have you tried just your wife's email address used for amazon, not a new one created for origin ? |

| yep - exactly the same default path to the executable file..... the e-mail that i used for Amazon doesn't work. |

EA Origin is an application / download in it`s own right, have you installed it ?.

the exe is in the bin folder
I have no idea if this will work for TW but if you havn`t solved your problem may worth a try, it works for Fifa13
open the file
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
You will have to open the file in notepad.
enter the following lines after the last line in the file and click save

The lines in Green will stop your connection to Origin.So you can start Fifa without connecting to Origin.
The lines in red will stop Fifa from communicating to EA servers.

| Not to be mean, or anything, but that is why I, and most gamers prefer the disk/DVD/CD....in other words a hard copy...you can probably get the TW08 game new at Amazon. |
