The work on a new golf simulation is already in progress. No other than Mike Jones is heading a designing who are developing this awesome game. Do yourselves a favor and go to linkscorner.org Click on the Forum tab. Click on the Lobby tab (first tab in the forum) Click on the topic heading "Another new golf game - it never rains but it pours" Most of the questions you may have, are addressed under this topic. Being very familiar with Mike Jones and his course design talents, I can assure everyone that this will be the best golf simulation to ever have hit the market. My eyes are starting to well up. My prayers seem to have been answered. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and yes people, there is a Golf God.

I would appreciate any thoughts or comments any of you might have in regards to the development of this latest Golf Sim. The link provided by Gunpower in regards to this topic, does take you to the Links Corner Forum but has nothing to do with the new game under development. By going into the Links Corner Forum and then the Lobby and then under the post heading that I mentioned in my above post, you will find a 6 page discussion of the already started project. You will also be able to view a video of the game engines capabilities.

This looks fabulous, maybe I'll get back to designing again if this comes to fruition

I'll tell you this. If it doesn't have a server and the way to set up games, similar to the way TW's was set up, then it will bomb.. The same way TWO has bombed..

Yes...

Looks very good so far, but i agree with Larry, online play will be the key of success.

I can understand reservations, however this looks to be a different situation. With TWO, it was EA Sports running that and they had a history of not listening to customers. This company is a group of former players who want to make their own game. One of the team members is one of top course designers for the former Microsoft Links game, Mike Jones. While I cannot say definitively that this will not be a TWO situation, I can say that these guys appear to be top notch in what they are trying to put together. Just take a look at the example videos they have put together.

There has been talk for years from some people in this community wanting a new game created. I have seen comments over and over again like 'Can't someone make a new game with X, Y and Z features? I would pay for it if they would.' Well, someone is trying to do just that. A new PC game has not come out in over 5 years (TW08 being the last...no, I do not count TWO as a PC golf game). The big companies are not interested in the PC market anymore. These guys are trying to give the PC players what they are looking for, a realistic 3D golf game.

well Jeff i think everybody who like pc golfing is still interested in getting a new game running asap but i hardly disagree that the way them guys on perfect parallel are going the right way. To be honest with you i think that project is already dead and hopeless because they wanna get 300000$ for nothing and wanna charge people for a project they even dont know about. I missunderstood the kickstarter thing myself totally and spent 15% too but that will not help at all and i will not pay one more cent on that project. Its up to everybody himself but i cant see them reaching 300k$ ammount to go ahead from there.

I have made a pledge, but I have to agree that $300,000 is going to be hard to raise. It will take 6,000 pledges of $50 to get to $300,000 or 12,000 pledges of $25. I know some people will pledge more, but are there really that many people interested in playing cyber golf???

I have watched the video trailers and although they do look fantastic, I'm not paying for something that hasn't been developed and I'm sure not paying to beta test it. I want a new game as much as the next guy but this is far from being complete and I have been thru the " fix on the fly" and the " ever evolving" bs before..

Also the apps that will be available and mini game etc. just reminds me of a browser based game that didnt work before. This already sounds like a money pit, whomever has the most money gets the best stuff and that creates huge problems as far as having fair competition..

I may be wrong and hope that I am but I like having something in my hands "disc"..

I will follow this and hope for the best..

Peace

Well, that is never going to happen with this game since it sounds like it will only be a downloadable game. The days of CD/DVD games are a thing of the past. Guess everyone is content to live with memories and their old media and a dying game. All I can say is I hope I never see another thread or comment made on this forum asking for a new game to be produced.
