Well, I'm trying to come out of the dark ages and switch from 06 to 08 but I'm just finding so many things that I really miss. The biggest one is that I have no idea what clubs to buy. I liked how you could see in 06 what the clubs differences were (more power, more spin, most power ect...). Is there any place that I can find what the differences are in the 08 clubs and balls? I've googled a bit and searched here but I just can't find any info. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I am not sure about offline play, but the equipment made a difference on online play.
For example when you use stiff flex shafts you will win some distance, but the ball direction will be harder to control.
Also depends what level you play.....novice....intermediate...advanced or expert.
Not sure it will make any difference on Novice, but it made difference on expert level.
I played all available tours on expert level from 2005....until 2009, and equipment below gave me the best results on online play.
A lot of my teammates used the same equipment in TW08:

Nike CPR Extra Stiff Flex Shafts, King Cobra FP Irons, EA 1-Under Edition Wedges, King Cobra Speed LD F Driver, King Cobra Speed Pro Fairway Woods.

The golfball i used: Bridgestone B330-S

Thanks for the tip and link Gunpower. That was one of the first things that I printed off when I reloaded '08. :>)

This game is just so different from the earlier versions (06 and earlier, I never owned 07) that I've had a hard time adjusting. I want to get into playing more online with people so that's why I've decided to give it another try. About the only offline that I'll play I think, is taking a player up to getting his PGA card. If it's like the earlier versions, once you do that, it gets kind of boring. That's kind of why I was wondering about the clubs. The "Mid Level" clubs for a developing amateur player are tough to select in this version. I was kind of curious if maybe someone has made a chart or something with the different attributes for the cheaper clubs. (maybe a fun project for me if nobody has)

That being said though... Thanks a bunch for the tip of clubs to use for online play. That really saves allot of trial and error for me. All that I could really think of was to select the most expensive of each and see what happened. That at least gives me a place to start online with.
