There are a few thing you can try:
On desktop right click your game shortcut. Choose properties. Choose Compatibility Tab. Put check mark in Disable desktop composition Click apply and ok.
Also try this:
On desktop right click your game shortcut. Choose properties. Choose Compatibility Tab. and on bottom check box: Run as administrator
Also try this:
On desktop right click your game shortcut. Choose properties. Choose Compatibility Tab. and in compatibility modus box select : Windows XP (; service pack 3 )
You can also try to turn down some graphics settings in options...graphics.... in TW06 |

I have one game on my PC that crashes like that, the rest of my games run fine. I also have an nvidia card, and read online that a lot of people with similar cards were having the same issue with the game that I was. I finally updated the nvidia drivers last week, and now I'm able to play the game for the first time. It still crashes several times a game, but instead of crashing to my desktop, it goes into the pause menu. Not ideal, but at least I'm able to simply exit the pause menu and continue the game. Obviously some kind of compatibility issue between my nvidia card and that one particular game. |

Cajun" | Sounds good. PC games are tempermental. The game I spoke of plays fine on my other PC, no issues whatsoever. But I couldn't get it to play on my other PC, which is a year newer and a much better PC. Even though the game was designed for Windows 7, which I have running on both machines. |

I had a similar problem when I first installed TW06 and tried to enter either the Rivals or the PGA modes.
I don't recall how I stumbled across the fix, but I found that the mpeg2dmx.ax file in C:\Windows\System32 was causing the problem. I renamed the original mpeg2dmx.ax file to mpeg2dmx.ax-old and the game not only worked perfectly but it also created a new mpeg2dmx.ax file.
Then again, I'm using XP SP3, so this may not be the fix you're seeking. |
